Any RV/toy hauler/tv experts here?

Can I just go to Best Buy and purchase any LCD TV or are there special RV-rated televisions? Are there any other considerations I should - uh .. consider?

Turns out the Pyle brand LCD dvd/tv that came with my trailer was a pile. It had some sort of mysterious internal meltdown and now has to be replaced. Ive had the electrical system in the trailer professionally checked out so I'm ready to buy a new tv.

Instead of spending $500 on a tiny 19" dvd/tv I'd like to spend $300 on a 26" LCD TV (because I've already got a radio/cd/dvd player installed in the trailer).

Only thing that I might look into is a LCD with a low power consumption rating. Its face it wireing on RV's are a bit shotty at best.
Just a little 81hp trail bike.

I know several of my toy hauler owning friends have regular TV's in their rigs with no problems.  I'm not saying it's guaranteed, but they've gotten away with it for a couple years.

Appreciate the replies.

I've done more research since asking the question and it looks like Jensen makes an RV-rated tv (has sealed circuit boards to resist humidity, reinforced case to esist vibration, etc) but they cost as much for a 19' as a 42" would cost for home use.

My parents have a little 19" regular LCD in their motorhome. Been in there for almost 2 years no issues.

doesn't matter. Just need a good power inverter.
Regular TV's ok. And maybe bring it inside if it is super cold or hot out?

You could buy a regular household TV and get the extended warranty in case it does fail, you would still be money ahead over the RV TV.
mostly stock with a 12t sprocket of fury

That does it then: I'm buying the regular 26" household LCD TV.
Thanks for the help, guys.
