Welcome aboard, yes there is a speed limiter on the raptor that can be unplugged.  It may cause the "check Engine light" to turn on eventually in which case you simply replug in the sensor, run for a few minutes and it goes off.

I will try and take some pics tonight of the sensor plug location, and post it up for you.

welcome to the site.

i wouldn't worry any about the speed limiter. i learned that it was a waste of my time to dig the plug out of the bundle of wires to unplug it. it doesn't change that much. maybe 2-3 MPH and that's it. i would suggest a 15 tooth front sprocket and you will never even hit a high enough RPM on the top end to activate the limiter.

for some people its 2mph for others its 6mph. it really depends on your mods. I think its worth it bc all my buddies have 700s so i love beating them when we do 600ft races:)

robkd

dosn't the dyna ignition bypass the limiter anyways....if so i would spend the money and get it  welcome to the site!

Krandall

Correct, investing in the Dynatek will get rid of the effects of the nasty "Speed Sensor"

The only time the sensor is activated though is in 5th gear near topped out.

thanks guys. informative thread. I hadn't even thought about pulling that plug...until now haha!

Is it worthless to do to a stock-olicious quad?
Krandall: "peelz. I'll be real with you. As much as I hate on you for soccer, I really don't mind it"

robkd

depends on where your riding but how often are you really topped out in 5th gear?  Just a thought because thats the only time you would notice it.

Headrope

It's "newb" not "newbie."
