I have stripped out 2 timing plugs and am on my 3rd. The fit of the 6mm allen is very lose and the material is poor, making it easy to strip out. I did some measuring and found out the case drain plug and timing plug share the same threads. I bought 2 magnetic drain plugs awhile back so I had a spare setting around. Measured the length of the stock timing plug threads and just sanded down the magnetic drain plug to the same length, swapped the o-ring onto it and now I have a 12mm head to use a socket on instead of a very lose 6mm allen. Still have to paint it to match. The pics show what I did and a comparison. Hope this helps someone else.

I've always wondered if that would mess with the magneto ???

Interesting. I guess. I've only had mine off 2 times.. (3 technically since Bo would have)

I'm yet to have any issues w/ them.. ???

The heat from the sanding took alot of the magnetic pull out of it. So light I do not think it will do anything.
