so how did u learn peels just keep trying to play songs and eventually got really good or what?
I am really not all that good, really. I just know alot of songs. I started learning to strum chord progressions by finding them on the internet. Almost Every country or 80's metal song only has 3 chords in it. G,C, and D. Learn those 3 chords, and you instantly know the rythym gutiar for a thousand songs. Then I started with the tablature. Picked up alot by watching a friend play and trying to keep up. Learned what a power chord and palm-muting is by playing "Glycerine" by bush. Then, it was on. I got way into learning Metallica music. They write a song almost like its modular. A riff including power chords, and palm muting the low E string. And repeating them, Not just them, I should say, almost all metal bands play that way.
I remember sitting and playing glycerine for like 3 hrs solid once. That was where I turned the corner and got my timing down and chord changes. I was totally obsessed. Now...it is quads.
