What is the difference of having say a 22x11x9 tire (razr 2)

On a 9x9 wheel Vs having it on a 9x8 wheel

I ask bc Douglas .160 on rockymountain only come in 9x9 and .125,.190 come in only 9x8

So whats the difference. will it work on both?
