Well, I brought the Z1000 home today.  What a blast!  I haven't had a street bike for almost 10 years, things have changed a lot.

Pic taken at the dealer, don't have any new ones yet.  2004 with 2900 miles on it.  Wasn't crazy about red, but it's growing on me, it looks much better in person.  Needs a few things, rear fender eliminator, mirrors that actually work, a seat that isn't full of concrete, front tire, and eventually a pipe and PC111.
