Well i sold the Raptor already! Made a quick $800 though. The thing was just way too loud! Im also a 2-stroke lover i guess. I dont like the torque of a 4-stroke, it takes way to much effort to ride them. The thing wants to wheelie out of every corner, i found myself letting off the throttle all the time. I like to hit the throttle and have the wheels spinning. I know it sounds crazy but the torque just hooks up too much. Im used to my old Quadzilla. I still have a Honda 300ex, so i can still ride, but i will probably be looking for another 250R.

takes more effort to ride a 4 stroke than 2? :wtf: have you ridden a banshee on a rough trail? nightmare!

If you wanted tire spin I think what would have done you well is some low-biting tires (ie...no tread). That woudl give you the tire spin instead of the torque going to the ground!

Infinity, Where are you from? I saw you put an hour south of the wisconsin border... I am in Dekalb.

We will have to plan a trip to the badlands soon, or possibly Fox Valley Offroad!
+1 me to cause our quads will be together for a little bit

I am in central Iowa but I am willing to drive if you guys get a good ride going! I am always game for riding new areas! :grin_nod:

where in Iowa do you ride? Just curious. Council bluffs?

Just remembered I posted in this message

I have only had my quad for about a month now. (didn't have one for about 4 years since I last owned one).

So far we have only ridden on some private land by Stratford. It is about a half hour NW of Ames. I live in Des Moines tho. The few of us that are around here that ride are looking for some new areas. A few of us are going to try some of the riding parks here in Iowa soon. I am still waiting for the title to my quad so I can register the damn thing to ride in the parks tho haha.
If your quad's in need of a A/F tune then your in the right place. Ticeman Performance is in Perry IA

Yes peels, i have ridden a Banshee quite a few times. They handle like shit, thats why people werent racing them on tracks much, so they make them drag quads. The 250R i had was a dream, it handled awesome, had plenty of power, and always ran like a top. It was way easier to ride because it wasnt doing a wheelie every time i came out of a corner (heading towards a tree), so i didnt have to let off the power as much, just power slided out of the corner. And as for maintenance? Well dont get me started, the 2-strokes are WAY easier to work on. I only put two top ends on in 5 years, (it didnt need it the second time)and didnt have one other problem. So yes i do think the 4-strokes require more work to ride, thats just my opinion. Maybe because i grew up riding 2-strokes? I would buy another CR500 before i would buy a new 4stroke 450 bike, in a second! I just got done rejetting my buddies CRF250F, it was a nightmare! I had to disassemble just about half the bike just to get the carb out, i cant imagine doing that everytime to jet it. As for the valves, i would rather put a new piston and rings on a 2stroke then do a valve job. That was also why i sold the Raptor, the valve guides were shot so i really didnt want to deal with that.

I prefer the linear power delivery of a 4 stroke.  As opposed to the Powerband of a 2stroke. That being said. Man banshee's are the $hit when they are revved out!  I just don't have the space to do so.  If I were near dunes, it would be a different story.
