Welcome to RaptorSource.com, some of you may wonder why we built "another" forum dedicated to Yamaha Raptors?
Although there are many individual reasons, as a group we decided that there are a few ideals we hold in high regard, and wanted to share them in our way........
Why RaptorSource?
A) Providing a great Member experience is why it was founded. YOU ARE OUR PRIORITY!!
B) Raptor riders own and operate RaptorSource.com, no companies or corperate entities.
C) Honest and relaxed atmosphere to find information, ask questions, post answers, or just BS with others with similar intrests.
D) Equality, if you have a 80 HP+ drag monster, or a bone stock machine, your opinion matters.
We truly hope to continue to improve the forum, so please, if you have a suggestion or concern let an Admin or Moderator know!!

I would say.. In my own opinion at least.. It's a combo.
I am but I'm not..
I am because I feel that the owners of a Raptor based site should at least be able to relate/chat quads with their members... If I was going to make a dungeons and dragons forum.. heck I better play or know about it.. (note: I do NOT play D&D.... :lol: )
In ways' that I'm not. Raptorforum is a great place with tons of knowledge base and I still go there. But. This is primarily my home now. :thumbs:

Things have changed IMO. The new owners do not have a good rep with the other forums that have purchased. And the new admin is hardly there and isn't into atv's. There was some other things that happened that happened behind the scene that led to our decision.

I've had to turn my avitar's because of people with stuff that I don't want on screen while my wife is around. I think we can try a bit harder to keep these avitars work and wife safe.

man i was on raptorforum for like almost a year or somehting, and the last few months i was buisy with tests and shit and couldnt get on, and i get on and didnt notice much at all, then i get a invite here. . . so tell me what all did i miss on the old forum? who sold to who and what? aparently i missed alot, someone please fill a fellow raptor vet. in.

Well... I was wondering where everybody went and know I know.... All I can say is I'm very disapointed. Raptor Forum was and is a great site. That had nothing to do with who owned it. What made it a great site was the people who posted on it. There is only one real reason to start your own site... $$$$$$$. I think you guys saw an opportunity and took it. So let's not pretend that you did it for some great noble reason. You did it because you saw how much money was being made from the banners and the VIP section and said to your self "DAMN!... ... I can do that!"
Hell... You copied it exactly... except for the color... and by the way, this black is much harder to read. The blue and white is easy on the eyes. I know your trying to look cool and all but the black is not the way. If it was, this is the color Windows would come in... think about it.

The problem is now we have our people spread over 5 sites. What you've done is make it harder to get info... all so you could make money.
GREAT JOB! I hope your proud of what you've created. You've taken someone else idea to make money and trying to pass it off as doing it for "the greater good". Let's just be honest.... that would be a good place to start!

The black is harder to read. But you can easily change that by clicking on "Look and Layout Preferences" within your Profile area, and selecting the layout that suits you best.

First off. If you knew what we did you would do the same. We didn't do this to make a profit. We are putting anything this site makes right back into it. So don't come on here talking smack when you have NO IDEA what is really going on. We are even putting our own money into the site so these vip members can actually have a monthly drawing.
Second, people really like the color, thats why we went with it.
You are just here to create more drama, and we do not need that here.

Trust me, it has absolutely NOTHING to do with money. This was not created to "get rich quick". There is no get rich quick with owning a website.
Loyalty? Yeah, we all had loyalty to Dracus. When he owned the site, it was awesome! There are not hard feelings among us with Dracus, Doubt, or Maddog. We have remained in contact with each other to some extent.
Did Delta take American Airlines idea for offering low fares via the web? No. Are there similarites? Sure. We offer an alternative to other sites, plain and simple. We are a site for the people, without the corporate feel. Over the next few months, RF will have ads blasting in your face. It takes $40 to make them go away for your viewing pleasure. If you're happy with RF, by all means stay with them. We are not trying to force feed you by joining our site. If you choose to stay with the other community, do so. You won't hurt our feelings one bit.

I too like being loyal, but...what I was loyal to seemed to turn into something else. So this site was started for the people who actually ride quads and have a good sense of humor. We drown our sorrows from not being able to ride every day by at least posting about riding everyday. :thumbs:

I'm pretty sure this site was started for the exact OPPOSITE reason from making money... A lot of people prefer mom-and-pop places (as RF used to be...) as opposed to supporting a Corporate Entity (WHO EXISTS ONLY FOR PROFIT BROTHERMAN !). NO to mention, personally - I like the feel of a smaller community as Raptor Forum was about 10-12 months ago.
- I'm not giving up on RF, but I do like to spend time in both places. As I posted in a thread over on RF...I like liquor AND beer. I drink both. Same thing here. I like RF and this site. I read/post on both.
Just because you make a new friend doesn't mean you can't hang out with your old friends anymore...unless you're a 12 year old girl. :lol:
FYI...I personally like the site in Black - I haven't changed it. It's pretty easy on my eyes anyway.
As far as Copying the RF site ? Dude, have you ever been to another forum ? THEY ALL HAVE THE SAMN DAMN FORMAT more or less. Shit, my wife's scrapbooking forum looks the same damn way as Raptor Forum does. ??? They must have copied the Raptor site too huh ?

Oh... and did I miss all these Money making banners around here that the money-grubbing-selfish-capitalistic owners of the site have put up ? Only banners I've seen have members and their rides on them. Unless I'm supposed to be sending money to Peels660 when his bike pops up at the top of my screen. I sure prefer seeing that than an E-bay or KTM banner.

Birdog, There is no money here. If you were to calculate the amount of hours Krandall, Flynbyu, and Socal have spent on this site the versus the 14 vip memberships @ 5 dollars a piece(70 dollars total), it's hardly worth it.
I am here for the reasons stated in my first post of this thread. Period. I spend usually 5-10 hours a day on this site, watching for folks that don't follow the rules. I also get to bite my tounge/finger tips when I completely disagree with a topic or post, due to the fact that I have to remain neutral.
I have zero/zip/nada income from this function. I do it for like you said, the members, and our love for our quads.

I know this is not going to make me a popular guy here but this need to be said. Trust me...lot's of you guys are thinking the same thing.
The problem is now we have our people spread over 5 sites. What you've done is make it harder to get info... all so you could make money.
GREAT JOB! I hope your proud of what you've created. You've taken someone else idea to make money and trying to pass it off as doing it for "the greater good". Let's just be honest.... that would be a good place to start!
Birdog, There is no money here. If you were to calculate the amount of hours Krandall, Flynbyu, and Socal have spent on this site the versus the 14 vip memberships @ 5 dollars a piece(70 dollars total), it's hardly worth it.

What made it a great site was the people who posted on it. There is only one real reason to start your own site... $$$$$$$. I think you guys saw an opportunity and took it. So let's not pretend that you did it for some great noble reason. You did it because you saw how much money was being made from the banners and the VIP section and said to your self "DAMN!... ... I can do that!"
Hell... You copied it exactly... except for the color... and by the way, this black is much harder to read. The blue and white is easy on the eyes. I know your trying to look cool and all but the black is not the way. If it was, this is the color Windows would come in... think about it.

If places like this and MR piss you off so bad why are you on 3 that I know of? If your at such a loss, you might need more help than people on ANY forum can give you. i find it interesting that people assume that in AMERICA every thing is done for money. Shit I got married for love it sure was not for money!!! I ride for fun and pleasure and it costs me lots of money. Not all things are born out of greed. As for this site that is the right of the site owners to form and start it. It is AMERICA and we have those rights. And as for all the drama it is only a websight not life and death. Will it survive ? I think yes a well run site will do fine . These sites are world wide and there are plenty of readers to keep all busy. Best of luck to you guys and if a person does not like what you have done let them go some where else rather than create problems for you. FR.

I know you can make money of a web site. I owned one for years (FamilyShedsAndOutdoor.com) and I made good money off it for a while. I shut it down to focus on my other business but it was rocking for a while. I also know it takes a lot of time and a lot of work. You have to be a hellofa guy to get it done with no profit in mind.
I am not against Capitalism. I own my own small business. I am about as big of a fan as Capitalism as you’ll find. I just like to keep it honest. If you come out and say “Hey… we thought of a way that we can make some money and at the same time give you guys a better product” then I’m all for it. It just bothers me when people try to come across as if they are doing something for the greater good when there are self serving reasons that are truly motivating them.
That being said… I have no real reasons for not believing these guys. I will now take them at there word. No one likes to be called a liar especially by someone that does not have all the facts… which I do not.
Segkast is right; I do miss you guys on the other site. I never posted much but I read a lot of what you guys wrote. You kept me entertained when I was supposed to be getting some work done.

I will say that i joined RF less than 4 months ago and i saw changes within that time frame, i posted a thread asking about paddles, and in that thread i explained that my bro had a Honda TRX 450r with sand stars and he seemed to like them, then one day later i am reading the replies and i notice the Honda TRX 450r is underlined and highlighted in green ?? WTF i think to myself ! so i drag my pointer on it and it has a mini window showing a new honda 700 with a hyperlink advertising THE NEW HONDAS!!! ON A F N RAPTOR FORUM!!!! :wtf:
