Title: 2009 Hood
Post by: Gaber on July 08, 2008, 03:07:25 PM
I like the 2009 black hood vent on the new raptors.  Are there any aftermarkets out there?

There aren't any that really resemble that one. I know QuadTech was making a Carbon Fiber one, but due to the increase in price of the Carbon Fiber, the limited production on them. Word on the street is you can still buy them, but they come at a hefty price.

I saw that one on Quad Tech.  Yep, lil' to much dinero for me.  Thought about just painting mine, but I'd regret later cause it would look like ass!! :moon:

Mine was blue but I painted it black. I've had it like that for about 2 years. Had to repaint once thus far. It's not to bad. Like evll's said, its all in the prepwork.

I scuffed mine with a scotch brite pad. and bought a black matte paint made for car bumpers, it's lasted pretty good thus far!

The 09's have the speedo inside the hood.  Bet you could rig one up pretty easy. '08's have the black hood too, but no speedo.

I just sanded, primed, and spraypainted my 660 hood black. Looks decent, not b and n designs but it works for now.

The hood on the '06 Raptor700SE is black and looks like carbon fiber.
They've held up extremely well on my twins. So well that I wish they'd make all the black plastic pieces out of the same stuff. It seems impossible to scratch and even after two years of torture they still look brand new.
