Are those lowering kits that are advertised on ebay any good? The ones that reposition the lower mount of the shock outwards on the lower A-frame. They say it will drop the front of the quad about 3". Same thing with the rear link. The 700R sits too high and seems "tippy" to me. Just wondering if they are worth the money. ???
I've heard they work ok, but for me I put on YFZ shocks and unloaded some pre-loaded in the rear spring. Total drop has been about 1 and 1/2 inches. It allows me to trail ride, yet the lower CG really helps in the corners.
In my opinion a 3 inch drop is too much

Thanks, Aaron. I really like the ride of my stock 700R. I have unloaded the front springs as much as possible and backed the rear off almost to the end. Nice and soft. Much better than my Z400. My shoulders don't ache after a days riding. I have a pair of YFZ shocks, but haven't as yet installed them. Sounds like that may be the way to go. I rarely ever trail ride, mostly sand ride, and not too worried about ground clearence.
On another note, that single cylinder 700 "thumper" sure gives me "thumb-buzz" in a hurry. I am looking into an anti-vibe steering stem and maybe anti-vibe risers. I rode a YFZ that had both and it was really smooth.

Just remembered about flipping the rear shock mount, that lowers the rear about 1.5" I think
the lowering kit on the front makes them look silly IMO. It is a must for ice racing/flat track, though.

Do you have extended A-arms as well? The pic of the front is great, it looks very wide and low. Is the rear wider than stock too?
The rims are just flipped in the front, They are stock A-arms

I have heard of people flipping the rear link and it does not change the ground clearance. It was stated that they had a better center of gravity. I am going to try it when I get my extended swinger later.
doesn't effect the ground clearance, but the overall rear suspension travel will be limited.

Stock a-arms with lowering kit from CRJ front and rear. Rear link flipped as well
Front rims flipped for width
G-Force extended rear wheel hubs in back (+3.5")
Stock rims on all 4 corners

I bought CRJ knock offs from EBay, about $80 for front & rear I think. I don't know about trail riding but flat tracking they work well for the price :thumbs:

Polaris says its the fastest accelerating quad out there not the fastest quad. I've been beat be more than my fair share of Raptors, but have beaten a few also. I know that the Raptor is faster when built and I can't even argue that point. I think old bert even admitted on RF. I really don't care I'm just giving Bert shit.

To be honest I looked at the Polaris Outlaw 525 IRS for a long time before buying my used '06 Raptor. I also looked at the new Honda 700XX. I really liked that IRS thing, but I ride mostly in the sand and decided to go with Yamaha. It's fast and powerful. It also has a tendency to be a "wheelie machine" and has a high G/C making it a little tippy. But Yamaha has it right.
IRS is nice but the maintenance sometimes does out weigh the good

That would be interesting ???
KTM has fuel injection on some of there bikes, I really don't think they would need Polaris's help. I think there engineers can help there selves on that one. KTM has great products, but Polaris has ok products with KTM motors.
