Ok, so winter hit here in Omaha with a big bang. We got about 5" of snow recentlly. I want to hear what everyone is doing with their quads this winter!
For me I REALLY want to find a YFZR and transplant my motor into it. But if costs doesnt allow I may just do a total rebuild and revamp the colors on my bike. If I do its going to be something really weird and something no one has ever done!
LETS HEAR IT!!!!
Redoing all the suspension the way I want it. FINALLY!
Riding mine....what's snow?
Hopefully strip it all down and PC everything, few parts line-x and the rest white.
Debating whether or not to get a Houser drop rear grab bar
Also curious about those ebay radiators for $100
Part I have so far that need to be put on:
Houser +1 stem
GTThunder Steering flag
GTThunder MX link
GTThunder poly skid
Got my rear shock rebuilt by GT not sure if I want to run it or use the custom axis i just got.
Brand new stock cylinder with a CP 12.75 instead of my Cylinder works BB kit
Parts I just put on:
White coolant hoses
Pro armor revolution nerfs
YZ kill switch for start button and a Tether kill switch
I might sneak out into the garage and look at it a few times.
Possible C/C and P/C my exhaust Black. Love to find the money for a hogged out + valve head. Probably end up not doing anything to it this yr though. :( Oh will diffently put my +3 swinger back on, stock swinger sucks.
basically a complete rebuild on mine...
Engine/performance
Its at barkers shop right now being built..
-105 mil cylinder
-4 mil barker stroker crank
-stage 2 barker head
-10:1 CP piston
-o-ringed head and cylinder
-arp head studs
-arp exhaust studs
-R&D pro-cut transmission with billet second and third gears
-Hinson billet clutch basket and pressure plate
-programmable dynatek ignition with D7 curves
-bigger TB, not sure on size yet
-and I'm upgrading my turbo to the new D7 oil-less setup, capable of 25+ psi.
Suspension:
-K&Q +10 tube swingarm
-fireball -2 +2 drag a-arms
-12.5" shaw hillshooter rear shock, and re-using my front floats.
Frame:
-smoothing everything on the subframe
-removing a few more brackets from the main frame
Cosmetic
-new 8x8 direct drive drag cut wheels
-swingarm, a-arms, steering stem/bars, front and rear wheels, wheel hubs, rotor hub, and sprocket hub will all be powdercoated gloss black
-frame is getting blasted and powdercoated gloss white
-engine cases, head, starter, all covers and everything on the engine will be gloss black
-Turbine housing for the turbo will be gloss black, compressor housing will be polished.
-going to run my stock drag-cut white fenders, along with my flat black hood/topper with the white pinstriping...but I have been getting the itch to get a set of white carbon fiber fenders, and drag-cutting those.
Also Been thinking of ditching my current axle and getting one of those hard-coated black drag axles from jj&a and a new black anodized billet carriers, but not sure if I want to spend that much $$ on pure cosmetic things. Also want one of those brembo rear brake kits from DL700, but I have other things to spend that much $$ on still, might get one before the winter is over though.
Everything is in the works now, just gotta finish smoothing the frame and bring all the parts to the powdercoater for blasting and coating. Only parts I still need is the clutch basket and pressure plate, along with the a-arms...waiting for a guy on MR to ship them out.
Just some small stuff here

yes it does
Mine is going to get an oil change, like it or not, although I can turn that into an ordeal. And whatever Aaron tells me that I can afford...
No more than two quarts!
plus a quart or so in the the skid plate and surrounding areas...

You got a TAG skid too huh?
Mines pretty much done other than routine maintenance.
Having said that I'm still up in the air about a camshaft. Have the X2 in there now but am very curious about trying the HDD50/50 for more torque.
Also been in contact with Paul at Monster and waiting for their new bigger core single for the big builds. They're still sorting the piping combos but expect to release it in the new year. Duals are sexy and all but something about a single and their weight saving has me wanting one. My Barkers are great and IMO the best sounding but may be up for sale depending.
Have my eye on a graphics kit to.
I think it is a tag, but I made a huge mess of it regardless of brand before the walden rally and it smelled like oil all weekend. I made the mistake of changing the oil like a 660, which is what my damn manual said to do. I had to start over and by the time I was done I think I had half of the oil in the damn pan. not usually that inept, although that is why Aaron doesn't like me working on it any more!
We all screw up now and then...just changed my oil for the first time with the tag skid on, and I managed to make a mess of my own for the first time in a while. damn tank drain didn't line up and half the oil out of the tank ended up all over the skid then the pavement. holesaw's coming out for the next change (on the skid not the motor)
Oh yeah, that is where the mess begins. I have an ok funnel that i get in there, but I always manage to spill it to start the spill.
got some pc'd stuff back...

Picked up an X4 cam for cheap. It has different lobe centers than my current X2 so I'm curious to see how that changes the feel of the powerband.
Got my "Clearance" Tag skid guard. You uys saying the drain hole doesn't line up hey. I'll have to check that out myself and might have to break out the hole saw too.
Cheers boys, Merry Christmas.
I think I'll just wait on parts the rest of the winter... Been waiting on exhaust tubing to finish my duals for over 3 weeks now...
Guess what I did to mine!!!!!!!!!!!!
not a fukin thing! that's what
Peels I thought you really did do something to yours. I mean it took like 2 minutes to scroll down to the "disapointment" Honestly I was thinking you splurged & bought a part. Maybe Santa will be good to you this year? Prob not but maybe !

I wrote "dragonz" on the seat. Maybe it will let me ride it then?
Similar to Peels....
Not a damn thing, because it's stock, and therefore I don't have to wrench on it all winter.
:sit:
Umm...put some Sta-bil in the tank, ran it a few minutes, then plugged it in to the battery tender. FTMFW!!!
