dpe_ele and his dad own a welding shop (Out Back Aluminum Welding) where they've been doing aluminum and cast aluminum welding for QUITE some time. He made his own +3 swingarm (pics below) and it turned out great. He's been running it for over a year now, and it's holding up awesome. In saying that.... He'd like to use his knowledge and skills to turn it into something great for the rest of the Raptor Source community.
Price: $250 + Shipping. And if we can get 5 or more... It'd be 225 + shipping. This group buy will be open for 2 weeks (to get the priceline set) These prices are good for +2, +3, and +4. Turnaround time would be 3-5 days probably.

AWESOME!!!
If anyone has any questions, shoot me a pm and ill get back with you a.s.a.p. I'm Real easy to work with
 THANK YOU Raptor Source for letting me do this! You guys are awesome and great to work with!
do you guys have a powdercoater in the area that might want to hook us up too?
SURE!! We have a guy we use, hes real good, IMO. I'll have to check on the pricing.
What kinda of riding do you do? I'm mostly on trails but hit the dunes up a few times a year. Was thinking maybe doing a +2, can a skid plate still be use?

I do mostly all Trail riding. +3 works great for me, but the + 2 would be more for trails.
If i were going to categorize the lengths.
+2 Trails/Very little dune
+3 Trails/Some dune
+4 50/50-probably leaning more on the dune side, but you could still trail ride with this.
And yes ill be relocating the skid plate mounting holes for free!
:woot:
How do you go about relocating the skid plate mount holes? Do you just get rid of the old ones up front and just drill two new holes farther back and tap them? Or do you weld on some kind of bung and tap it to give it some more thread?
Also, I ride 50% trails and 50% mx track so in your opinion would you do a +2 or a +3?
One more! lol Do you use some kind of jig to keep everything square so when it's all done it isn't messed up?
Sorry for all the questions!!
Thanks a lot!
-Jon
Ok, I'll ask the question a lot of us are thinking....
Are you going to warranty your work?
lots of questions lol, np tho
1. On mine i just welded up the old holes and just drilled and tapped new ones, i abuse the hell outa that skid plate(i high centered it earlier today on it lol) no problems at all, but ill be adding some beef, i dont want to have any returns.
2. Depending on how much power u have. I dont ride alot of MX but id imagin a +2 would be best for you(if you dont do much hill climbing), but if you do alot of hill climbing when you ride trails, id go with +3.
3. On mine i didnt use a jig, but i'll have one for this. Mine was .002" off I KNOW, i checked it with the calipers after every weld, i take warpage into consideration before and after every weld. I could go on(im a perfectionist) This is no walk in the park i know, but i do this kind of work all day every day
4. If something were to go wrong (NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!) I would eather fix it or replace the core. If you look i took carefull consideration to continue all the stock bracing and ALOT more...this thing is ROCK SOLID.
This is good quality work. I get $100.00hr to do things like this all the time. I'll probably have close to 20 hrs in each one of these. Do not be afraid of the quality. You wont get quality like this anywhere else.
If you have any more Q's i got A's, just shoot.
NOW LETS SIGN UP SOME PEEPS!
Sounds good to me!! I'm in for a +3!!
-Jon
AWESOME Jon, way to get the ball rolling , you are going to love this thing!
OK, i checked with my powder coat guy.
He does black all the time, so he can do Black all by itself anytime for $40, but if i get more than 3 of you that wants black it can get cheaper(see below for details).
for other colors i have a $120 rack fee, so if more than one of u wants the same color, that would work.
so lets say for example some of you wanted "silver"
1 person = $120
2 people = $60
3 people = $40
" " so on..
I think a rack holds up to 6.
This guy is real good and reasonable, we have used others in the area, this is the guy of choice.
Count me in for a plus 2

I have logistic questions. With a +2 does the rear brakeline need to be lengthened and how long of a chain would I need link wise? Is there anything else I would need to change for this to work? I'm very interested and followed your original post, it looks like nice work

I'm not 100% sure on a +2 if you will have to extend the brake lines, i had to on my +3. There is people on here that have done +2's , they would know, but without knowing i would wait and check to make sure, to save on cost. As for the chain i just figured about how much longer it was going to be from stock, and got extra, and cut it to length when i installed it. Hope this helps
Thanks ill get it sent out when I get it.

Looking forward to the feedback :)
Darryll
I got mine yesterday and it looks amazinng!!!! Aweome job man!! I love it!
If there is anyone thinking about getting this done, do it! It's well worth the money. I can't wait to get mine powder coated and put on my machine!
Darryll when you had that one powdercoated did the powdercoat look different on the rough cast aluminum versus the smooth part that you sanded? Or does it all look the same?
Thanks a lot!
-Jon
Thanx for the good words! I knew you would love it
The powder has a bit of orange peel look to it anyway. So it blends pretty well. The difference is minimal. That goes for gloss color, hammered is usually available, on that I don't think you could notice it at all.
Thx Darryll @ Out Back Welding
Just finished up the last 2, Johny_Ringo and bigbullseye78(wasnt in the GB) Both of which get powdercoated, I'll let them show pics. I'll be taking those to powdercoat in the morning

:(never got mine we think it got lost in the mail :cry:hopefully they find it and finish shipping it wanted to put on to go to glamis in a week but looks like that wont happen i just have to wait :(
Yeah if this goes again, put me down for one or two.
Sweet. I can't wait to see it. With all the bad weather we have been having in Cali, I-80 has been closed for trucks going over the pass from Nevada so it may be awhile before the mail can bring it but will be checking checking the mail every day in anticipation. Thx again
Glad to see people still interested  I can see i'm going to have to become a sponsor/vendor of this site.
Can't wait till some of these guys stuff shows up. Install, then GET SOME PICS UP! We owe krandall that much :)
I think I will be using UPS or Fed Ex from now on.. not so happy with USPS (effin slowww....). Displeased customers is bad buisness.
We got a new Powdercoater. I'll Post some pics of there work when I get some in. I think its going to be much better than the last guys. We should have a large variety of colors to choose from. Stuff like Brushed aluminum color, candies, gloss, flat, ect..at great prices. They are 30 miles away, but I think its going to be much much worth the drive.
Thx, Darryll

Me too..
Sorry guys, but the value of this product MUST be kept. There is alot of hard hard work that goes into these on my part, TRUST ME. I had a hard time shutting this GB down when I did, just because I knew there would be more and more people wanting in on this. If I did GB's real close togeather..it would be hard for me to ever even sell ONE at normal price. Am i making any sense?
Thx, Darryll

Thx krandal.
Sorry, wasn't sure on the soliciting rule.
It's still a great price for the craftsmanship. Essentially the guys that got in on the GB saved $50.

Need more pics! Can I get an Amen?
Darryll
Well I just got back from Sand Mountain and I wanted to report to everyone that I am thoroughly impressed. . It performs phenomenally and the looks on everyones faces when they stopped at the top of the mountain wondering how I was hole shotting them every time on a "stock" swingarm was hilarious. I even did a little jumping and it held up perfectly,(for reference I'm a :fattie: weighing in at over 300LBS).So to say i stress tested it,is a bit of an understatement to say the least. so i can't say it enough, great job Outback Welding and thank you so much. A definite 10/10
Where are those pics at ???
I Really anticipated seeing pics of most of these, if not all of these installed already.
:pics:
Thx in advance! Darryll

Are these lighter than a LSR or similar swinger? They look amazing and ive never seen a stocker fail so this is something i'd be interested in.

I have seen a stock extended fail before, but the guy doing them does shitty work
Alkire, my last LSR swinger was heavy and it was a drag swinger, I imagine their MX swinger is even heavier. I went with extended stock because I believe it to be lighter.

That's what i'm thinking, I wanted to see how durable they were before I tried one. The LSR +4 I have is a beast! Just way to heavy, the stocker never gave me any problems so maybe I +2 the stocker and I can keep OEM skid mounts and chain guides/ sliders. Yours looks great Gunny, really awesome
grats on 1000 posts Alkire 8)

I broke my LSR +4 twice. But it was a drag swinger(reinforced).
I thought yours looked a lot like mine. Either way, mine is just really heavy. I still have it id just like to try this one out
