Title: Need help diagnosing a cough
Post by: bigbullseye78 on September 08, 2010, 12:16:56 AM
Well have a 09 with intake pc111 and dmc duals. This weekend I had a hot cam stage 3 put in. I had it dyno tuned and everything seemed ok at the time. A little while later I noticed that at a 3rd or 4th gear cruise it falls flat on it's face then comes back to life then flat. Like it's coughing. But runs ok of I'm doing a full throttle pass. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Did you get an Air/Fuel ratio print out with the tune?  That might tell the story best as to whats going on.

I had it done by TRF out at Sand Mountain and I got nothing with it. He did two runs and said this is what I can get then took my money. I took my bike back to him when I noticed the problem and he didn't even get out of his chair to check it out. Hell he wouldn't even look my in the eye. Needless to say I'm not happy.

wow. That's crazy that you'd get treated like that.

to me, it almost seems like it'd be something else (other than map)

maybe TPS, is there a fuel filter somewhere on these?

I just got slammed with overtime at work so the soonest I can dump the map that's on there Is this weekend but will email it to you asap. The person I tried to to talk to at TRF was Bo the younger guy that did my cam. I think he's the new owner if I'm not mistaken. His dad came up with some line about it being my injectors but that seemed like a bit of a stretch to me. I think there my be a filter in the tank but I'm not 100% sure.

2 runs is not gonna get a bike tuned.... not an EFI bike... just WOT runs sounds like what was done, note a full tune..
