Onward we go onto a new season of racing :clap: Last year in the little car thank GERD.
First race of the year at my home track. Some stuff we did over the winter..... Painted roll cage,made a new motor plate, polished shit because I got bored, and made some other small brackets and stuff. For the roll cage, dont hate. If you look at it you can tell the cage color is different but tis not bad. We used 4 cans of spray paint on it :lol: Black primer, Navy Blue, a dusting of some lighter blue with sparkles, and a coat of clear. Turned out pretty damn good.
First race of the year- 3rd round of points and 2nd round of trophy race. I went -.001 red I was so pissed :mad:

I dont know if anyone knows anything abour bracket racing or not? If anyone does ill describe our strategy, if not, we'll say i just did good :lol: But the class I ran saturday was called 7.90 index. Where all you can dial is 7.90 seconds and its run on a pro tree. Went 5 rounds to make it to final four (semi's) of 64 cars.

We were! We have a regular size class A motorhome and a 27 foot trailer, but there were people with setups alot bigger then ours that made it fine
yep thats the game, closest to 7.90 without going under. if you do go under, you can win if the other person goes under more.
ex. 7.89 would still win against a 7.88 because its closer. but a 7.89 would lose against a 9.00 because you ran quicker even though they ran way off.
So what we did was a good strategy. The class was protree and pretty much no one runs protree on a regular basis so their lights arent that good. For some reason im good at the protree :lol:
So what we did is take weight out of the car to get it in the 7.84-7.85 range where we knew it would run fast. We did this because we knew I was consistently good on the tree. Since my car runs faster, I would be out in front the whole time. This gives me room to "play" and lightly drag the brakes and BARELY take the finish line stripe. Pretty much the idea is purposley run fast, have a better reaction time, and lightly drag brakes to slow down enough to not break out, and be right on the money. :clap:

Damn, havent updated in awhile. After the redneck ass track, we raced at route 66 raceway in Joilet. This started some hair pulling :mad:
When I launched, the car would break up, pop, stutter and bog. It would clear up about 100 feet out and off i would go. Sometimes it would only have a little pop, sometimes it would die on the burnout, or on the track. Our first thought was jetting, as this was the first time this year it was hot and humid. We tried our spare carbs, and changed jetting, fuel pumps, and just about everyting in the fuel system. Didn't help at all. After failing balls all day, we decided to put on our spare motor. We went and tested monday on memorial day. Car ran great, ran the same number all day. So we thought we fixed the problem.
Fast forward a week to Bunker Hill, Indiana. Same exact problem, even worse. car occasionaly made it down the track, otherwise it died. We figured out the problem on the last pass, it was my kill switches. My electrical kill switch was grounding out inside the switch from the inertia of the launch, which explains the stuttering at the hit, and clearing up down track. Also, my mechanical kill switch had a problem. The wire was arcing against the plug somehow. So we fixed that shit, and off to Martin, Michigan we went :lol:
We raced in the ADRL, for those of you who havent heard of it, its really badass :lol: http://www.adrl.us/ It consists of door cars running 3.60's@210mph in the 1/8 mile. crazy stuff. anyway, we raced in this league in front of about 10,000 people, plus the 100,000 watching live online 8)
How this works, is 16 cars get in, and qualifying is based on reaction time. I qualified 9th with a .024 :jaw: I beat the #8 qualifier by .005 of a second. Then I beat the #1 qualifier. Then I beat the #11 qualifier to make it into the finals 8) I lost by .005 of a second in the finals :(

Last weekend, we raced in Terra Haute Indiana. Friday night I lost in the finals by .001 of a second :mad: Saturday my throttle stuck wide open on the burnout :lol: I put my foot off the pedal and the pedal stayed down :jaw: A bushing on the throttle cable got stuck behind a plate behind the pedal, holding it down. So i had to shutoff and I had to lose the round. On sunday i lost in the semifinals by .012. I ran a 7.9402 on my 7.94 dial and had a .042 light. Other kid had a .0000 light and ran a 8.06 on his 8.03 so i barely lost. Pics in next post
