Title: Look at these a-arm guards
Post by: shrimpy21 on April 19, 2010, 05:42:37 AM
Well i ordered these from Terry Bopp (Bopp racing components) when i ordered my a-arms.I paid $75 for these, which all i can describe is a flat piece of aluminium, which is 2mm thick with NO upturn to protect the front of the a-arm,i could of done better with my eyes shut. They dont even cover the full length of the a-arm   Well i contacted Terry and he would do nothing about these guards saying my a-arms are cutom made and so are the guards and would not refund my money even if i sent the guards back to him.He said that was the best he could do without spending loads of time fabicating. All i can say is his customer service is F :mad:G   S :mad:T.

I would not be recommending his a-arms or any of his products to anyone.

Would like you views on these so called a-arm guards please?are they worth $75 etc?

Stephen

Spend all that money and thats what you get would prob look just as good using the lid of a biscuit tin and sticking them on with no nails.  :jaw:

Oh my word...

If I were you Shrimpy..... I'd do a couple things.. 1.

Post this on all forums. Raptor Forum, Modded, BlueTraxx, ExRiders, And whoever else.... Call him out. People see that and they won't want to spend money there.. That is complete crap that you got charged $75 for that.

Then.. for info.. did you order straight from Bopp or did you order through Kenneth? Because Kenneth should also be made aware of this as well.

the fact that Bopp won't let you return it is bull crap. I believe a full refund is in order. Especially for something that looks so crappy.

I sent an email to the company saying because of this they will never see any of our money.  This was the response.  "Thank you for making life easier for us."  Hope Kenneth drops them fast.

I'm glad I saw this thread, I was just about to order some stuff from them. Just what is 2mm aluminum supposed to protect against? I guess nothing more than those cheesy mounting straps will withstand. I wouldn't be surprised if going through brush ripped them off. Lame. . .

I think the thickness of the aluminum is fine. I think the problem shrimpy had with them is.. he spent $1500 on a sweet a-arm setup. and this is the "Thanks" he gets for "custom" a-arm guards

I think 2mm would be fine, if it wasn't just flat, some turnup on it would stiffen it up a bit. For the money, I would expect something that could withstand a moderate rock hit. Even if the plate did withstand it, those 'clamps' probably wouldn't. Yea, spending $1500, one would think, would get someone a little better status than 'screw'em if we can'.
