the front shocks from a polaris predator 450 (fox podium x piggybacks) are a direct bolt on upgrade for the 660 all you need to do is put a couple washers on the top when you mount em b/c the top bushing is about 1/4" narrower than the upper mount on the 660, imo the easiest and best upgrade to the raptor suspension you can do, better than yfz shocks!!!! and about the same price....they can be found on ebay for 200 - 300 bux. ok just found out from fox that the reason mine are dual rate and valved and such are that they are from a $8k 70 cc race quad called a cobra, so accordind to fox the polaris fronts are the same except for the dual rate springs so you could use either, the polaris ones are similar in length to the yfz shocks (about 1" longer than the 660 shocks) but the cobras are better!!!
NOTE: mine have been converted to dual rate springs and revalved but in polaris single rate form they're pretty sweet too, and way better looking than yfz shocks

Great info....Nice to know there is an easier alternative than YFZ shocks.

that's true...i almost forgot about having to take the grinder to the frame and arms to make the yfz shocks work....
good find man. that will help alot of people out
i used predator 500 shocks 18" long, perfect for lt a-arm, direct bolt-on ontop and bottom so no washers
at first i used them stock on +2 dentons
(http://a290.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/31/l_a1e83910e91f3dba6889295064ef9d81.jpg)
but then i went with a tcs triple rate kit
(http://a249.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/86/l_a6a2205cae38791419ea56da06ca6068.jpg)
but then i got a bad ass deal on ebay from some z400 elka shocks
(http://a569.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/102/l_2b365d62e0030d5e41b001e4d0210758.jpg)
the z400 shocks are direct bolt-on on the lower a-arm but they are about 1/4" less so washers are the solution
still working great even on big doubles and tabletops....
Calex, that second picture looks like my old shocks..........TO THE "T"
Where did you get them from. That is a 04 shock with the deseri spring kit.
On a side note, you raptors will be alot faster and the women will flock!!!!!!! :nana:

Hey I have a kid in San felipe that is trying to come up with some shocks for his banshee. A local so he has limited$$ what did you have to do to get the YZF shocks to work on the Banshee? If it is no big deal then he should be able to swing buying a used set of 450 shocks. Thanks. FR
all he needs to do is grind in the same parts as the rappy, and use them with zero preload
