Breaking News: Deputies Say Woman was Buried Alive
New Information In Oceano Dunes Death

May 16, 2008

OCEANO DUNES- Homicide detectives now say a woman found dead on the Oceano Dunes may have been buried alive.
Rangers say about 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday, they were called out to a campsite where they found a 53-year-old woman unconscious. :hmm:
Other campers performed CPR on her, but eventually paramedics took the woman to Arroyo Grande Hospital where she died.
Investigators say she had been camping with three other men. Authorities originally arrested them for Drunk in Public.
Investigators say when the victim passed out the three men thought it would be funny to cover her with sand so she would be mad when she awakened.
She never woke up.

The San Luis Obispo County Coroner performed an autopsy on the body Thursday. Investigators say she died from the inhalation of sand. :bash:

The three men are now being charges with involuntary manslaughter. :kick:

The name of the victim is being withheld until Deputies can find her family
