Title: 09 OEM fuel controller ...can any one confirm this is for real
Post by: Dazz on February 28, 2010, 06:17:35 AM
i read this on another forum and tried it on my 09 and it seems to work

Quoteok ive sat on my bike and gone thru it all as i said it worked for me i havent changed much on the bike except the exhaust and filter but luke did say it should be enough to even handle twin exhaust.i dont think its goin to b able to handle major mods but it was enuf for mine.Ok so when turnin the key on hold down both buttons it will eventually cum up with DIAG on the screen then push top button once it cums up CO then hold both buttons down til C1 appears there will also be a small 0 in top right of screen.then hold both buttons down again and another number appears under the 0 and if u push the top button it goes higher number which is more fuel if u push bottom button it goes lower which is less fuel.Im waitin on a manuel from the dealer coz there is more things in there as ive stuffed up the sequence b4 and got other things on screen.Im no mechanic but this is what has been showed to me if im wrong no probs i stand corrected but why wouldnt there b a diag plug on the bike and why would my bike run fine with exhaust and filter mods after i adjusted it.

what gives here  there is also a tacho in there i could use while i was tuning the fuel

did some one forget to tell us about the ON BOARD fuel computer on 09+ models ?   :batman:

pretty sure they would not tell you about that, as people would mess with it, and blow up their quads, then bring them back to the dealer and blame them cuz they blew it up.

If it is true, that is waaayy cool

take it to a dyno and find it if the tune changes.

Are you saying there is an onboard adjustable fuel controller that is oem?

On the Grizz 700 it can be done like said in first post, maybe the rappy got it too? Check this post:

groovy. I've seen the Grizz bing adjusted before. Guess you just need some way to control the changes.

if you have pulled the airbox lid too, then you need more fuel.

Changing fuel settings. This only effects the first 25% of throttle. If you do not know how to read a plug do not mess with this setting. Check your plug after making a change.

1. Hold "Select" & "Reset" and while holding them down turn the key on. The "d IAG" screen will pop up in 5-10 seconds.

2. Press Select to get it to the "Co" screen.

3. Hold "Select" & "Reset" again to get the "C1" screen to pop up.

4. Press "Select" & "Reset" again.

5. Press "Select" to raise the number and press "Reset" to lower the number.

6. Turn the key off to set the setting and start riding.

Tempature of engine coolant.

4. The number listed is the tempature in celsious. 96c is 205f

5. starting bike and riding will keep that screen up.

6. Turn the key off to return to standard screen.

Engine rpm.

I can not find or remember where this one is but I know I you can show it (i found it in the first screen when i started the bike )

Here are some more. Diagnostic code number on display followed by checking method.

D01
Throttle angle
• Fully closed position 15 ~ 20 Check with throttle fully closed.
• Fully opened position 95 ~ 100 Check with throttle fully open.

D03
Pressure difference (atmospheric pressure and intake air pressure).
Displays the intake air pressure. Set the engine stop switch to "RUN", then operate the throttle while pushing the start switch. (If the display value changes, the performance is OK.)

D05
Intake air temperature.
Displays the intake air temperature. Compare the actually measured intake air temperature with the meter.

D07
Vehicle speed pulse 0 ~ 999
Check that the number increases when the rear wheel is rotated. The number is cumulative and does not reset each time the wheel is stopped.

D08
Lean angle sensor Remove the lean angle sensor and...
• Upright 0.4 ~ 1.4 incline it more than 65 degrees.
• Overturned 3.7 ~ 4.4

D09
Fuel system voltage (battery voltage): Approximately 12.0
Set the engine stop switch to "RUN", and then compare with the actually measured battery voltage. (If the battery voltage is lower, perform recharging).

D21
Neutral switch Shift the transmission.
• Neutral ON
• In gear OFF

D60
EEPROM fault code display.
• No history 00
• History exists 01

D61
Malfunction history code display.
• No history 00
• History exists Fault codes 12-50
• (If more than one code number is detected, the display alternates every two seconds to show all the detected code numbers. When all code numbers are shown, the display repeats the same process.)

D62
Malfunction history code erasure.
• No history 0 â€"
• History exists Up to 16 fault codes To erase the history, set the engine stop switch to "OFF" and then to
"RUN".

D70 Control number 00 ~ 255

Is the tacho normally not seen? you just see a speedo?

I was just tellin my dad this weekend about the new raptors w/ the dash and how you couldn't see the tacho and I thought it was stupid.

that's way awesome!

Seems odd since Yamaha sells closed-loop Auto Tunes and Power Commanders for the '09 700. You'd think they would be subjecting their techs to all sorts of computer cross mojonation issues. http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/products/modelscitemdetail/5/439/1848/13490/2009/1/9451/0/0/detail.aspx
