Title: Cheap and easy shock covers.
Post by: stocker on December 16, 2009, 02:09:58 PM
Cheap and easy shock covers for any make/model quad. If you have any old or unused under armor (the clothing or offbrand type). You can easily turn these into shock covers.

1. Safely raise the front or rear tires of the quad, so the front tires are off the ground.

2. Remove the mouting bolt and nut from the shock mount (forward end of the bike on raptors) allowing the shock to pivot in and out.

3. Cut the sleeves or legs off the armor.

4. Place the entire sleeve or leg over the shock. Zip tie the bottom first.

5. Stretch the armor until all slack is out and zip tie the top, and zip tie how tight you would like it to be.

I know shock covers are cheap but if ya got some armor just laying around in a droar and a couple of beers with nothing else to do there ya go!!   and they clean off VERY EASILY!! i ride in the mud and even with a garden hose it comes right off!

Light color (nude, white) if riding in black dirt or wet conditions, dark color (navy, black) for sand.   Helps you see the dirt buildup better.
