Do aftermarket grips make that much a difference?
I've got stock grips. They held up fine for many hours and hundreds of miles in all conditions wet, dry, hot and cold since 2006. But they've lived their life and are wearing down.
I could look for new stock grips and have something I know works or I could go aftermarket. What do y'all suggest and why?
I run Spider Grips and love how they feel compared to stock. I have large hands (size 14) and I have a hard time finding an exact fitting glove, so a soft grip is important to me.

That what I run, and I love them.
I run oury and like em.
Spider grips DO make a difference. a big one
Appreciate the responses but how about details beyond "I like the ones I'm using."
I've seen Spider Grips on some bikes and they look as if the little cube things flex. Is that so? Is that weird? How long do Spider Grips last?
Do they work everywhere? I live in Washington state where it's still fucking April on my side of the mountains where I trail ride through dust and mud, and gets up to 100 degrees on the other side of the mountains where I ride sand. The grips will need to be able to stand up to everything.
(sorry for the language but we're almost half way through June and it's still 50 degrees and raining here; the weather is absurd this year).

I got mine mid season last year, and they've held up fine. The cubes on the spiders add cushion and grip. Mine are wearing, but for ~$13 dollars a set, a new pair per season is reasonable IMO.

FYI, Steve at TQS is who I got mine from.
And as far as weather goes, I've been riding mine since last year so I rode all winter in california where it is nasty hot in glamis and I've had it back here in the cold with no problems at all.
And I don't see the cube flexing too much at all, it really helps with comfort for me.
Cool. Thanks for the replies.
pro taper synergy dual compund.....have hard end caps so the bars don't wear through em and they're soft and grippy as hell

had those on my 350. they felt good at first, but then i noticed they were tearing my hands up. 6 months with blisters and i had finally had enough
Took you 6 months to figure it out?
Took a look at some Spider Grips - there are several different styles and versions to choose from.
Seems they boil down to two different types: the "old" (thick) ones or the "new" slimline ones.
I've got big hands/wear a size 13 glove. Which grip are y'all gripping?
I got the slim-line

Spider A3's
Best grip I've tried so far. Big in comfort, small in price
No complaints
Oh, and stay away from Factory 909. They were not very comfortable and they didn't last long.
