Title: New Ignition coil, need reset?
Post by: miguel pereira on September 28, 2009, 06:33:41 PM
Hey guys, I had problem code 33, which refers to faulty ignition coil. I used a friends raptor 700 piece to try out but the problem persists. You know if I need one of those Yamaha FI tools to remove the error code, or it should reset itself?

Thanks for the help!

Unsure man. If it's flashing the code. I'd imagine there's something up with the coil. :(

I mean, it wouldn't hurt to try, but my guess. somethings broken.

is the rappy ecu like a car?  Disconnect the battery for 10 minutes just for shits and giggles. If it comes back, you have a real problem. No idear. Must be a lead to the ecu from the coil?

The problem is, I already changed the ignition coil, and the problem persists. And I've tested, current is arriving to the coil, but not coming out. And the code 33 keeps on flashing. And I've kept the battery unpluged for more then an hour, just in case...

Damn it... Strange problem! I've read the service manual, but it doesn't speak of anything about how to remove some of this codes. Maybe the diagnostic tool is really needed to reset it somehow.... Anyone knows?

And rain is starting to fall, I sooo want to ride mud again!

Thanks for the help guys, if anyone has an idea please let me know!

I don't think there's such a thing as resettting them w/ this tool..

I've had the 33 code but mine was due to a dynatek ignition issue. Removed the dynatek viola.
