Title: Dynatek Weirdness
Post by: Krandall on September 04, 2009, 07:22:27 AM
So..

I have a dynatek. I finally removed it due to it giving me some interesting issues. I could go out and ride. As soon as I turn it off. It'd flash an engine code 33. Coil issue. I could take the dynatek offf the coil. put stock wires back in. Start it back up. fine... Turn it off. Put Dyna wires back in. And run fine again. ::) ???

I know others have had their ignition fuse blow out. but I haven't had that. Has anyone had one that just goes bad from time? I've only had it a year and a half. And riding time, probably 30 hours only. I took it completely out and I am going to redo all of the wire ends on it (minus the 2 plugs it has that go into stock wiring) but the ones w/ the actual male/female ends I'm going to redo.

thats my project for saturday night, have a ride Sunday!!! WOOT!

Yours is the nonprogrammable one right? That settles it. This has been removed from my list of mods I would like to do. Reliability not worth just a change in the power curve.

..............whats the date code (4 digit) on the side of the unit..... there was a span of about 8 months where almost every unit failed on the programmable... updates have been made, and now running well.

Your issue may be from the coil getting too hot and shorting internally, just an option but keep that in mind as well
