ok since i'm doing my engine build this winter i'm buying all my parts through this summer. i already have a +5 stroker crank, RJ cam, and a piston on it's way. i'm just wondering if all this stuff will be fine sitting in my closet until i'm ready to install? i still need to get +2 valves and bee hive springs but i'm worried about the parts that are steel. i don't want them to start rusting or anything. my crankshaft will be ok i know because it's covered in oil. i'm wondering if maybe i should put a thin coat of oil on my other steel parts. or do you guys think they will be ok for the next 4-5 months in my closet?
cover em in oil, put in a zip loc and let em be.
+1 get the huge ziplogs and get some oil
Send them to me and ill perserve them in my engine until your ready for them.

I've had my stock piston sitting on my desk for over two years now. No signs of rust on the rings or the wrist pin.
mine aren't rusting or anything but i don't want to take any chances.
