Title: my 66 Chevy II
Post by: Duane on July 10, 2009, 04:09:44 AM
getting back into this site since I need to order some more stuff for my Rappy. Stationed in Italy now so my Rappy is sitting for now but am making a trip home at the end of the year and plan to do some riding. So I figured I'd post up some pics of my other money pit. My 66 2 door post Chevy II, with moderately modded LS1/4L60e, 3200 stall eng/trans, TCI front clip with 12" wilwood disc, 9" Currie built rear, 3.50 geared tru-trac locker, Caltracs and some some other stuff here and there. Has a Dakota digital dash and I'm stock pile parts while I'm overseas, hopefully ordering my complete A/C setup, all new glass and a bunch of other little goodies that add up quickly.

very cool
1 question..
you have some serious blocks on the rear leaf springs to lower the ride height
are you leaving that like that?
will you have some sort of traction / panhard bars to limit axle wrap?
I would think with the power you are sure to have, and the rear end setup  that way, it would be not too good!

I used the 3 inch blocks to help me with setting up ride height during the build, I figure with it together it'll drop a b it more and I will probably mill the blocks a inch and a half or so, I also have thicker U-bolts for it but are a hair short for those blocks. As for traction adder, yes, it has Caltracs on it. There in this picture, just missing the rod from the u-bolt plate to the front spring eye-bolt.

thanks, I'm also going to paint it either grabber orange, or a variation of the color or a metallic green.
