I need to know that it's ok to miss my school's biggest sporting event since I first set foot on campus. I need to know that I'm not missing out on a once in a lifetime opportunity to share the achievements of my fellow Spartans on college basketball's biggest stage. I need to know it's ok to honor my commitments to my job by not skipping out early on Monday and coming in dead tired on Tuesday and forgo spending 300 bucks a seat to sit in the nosebleeds with binoculars to watch a game that I could see better on TV.
Just tell me it's ok so I can stop feeling so guilty about not hitting "buy" on stubhub.
It's OK MD ;) The Scholastic departments of MSU are prided everyday on the fact that you are employed and successful.
Now report to the shout box, I need carb help!!!
If it was me I would be there for my school.....no matter what. But since its a community college, who cares. :P
But all joking aside this is huge, I would do whatever it takes to be there....once in a lifetime thing.
Seriously, hit the button. If there is any way you can make it happen without getting in trouble at work, you have to do it. :nana:
A great deal popped up and I hit the button, but before I could finish entering in the billing info the seats were gone. I'm scanning for another, similar deal. I haven't found anyone willing to join me at the game yet, though that does make ticket purchase easier.
Best case scenario I get back Tuesday morning and get 2-3 hours of sleep before work... I have a 50/50 chance of hating myself for going/not going. This is a difficult one for me because of the work factor, I'm just leaning on the cost as a crutch.
it's college.............
I'm just not into it like you guys are... Whatev.. I would say it's more than okay.. $300 is a new seat cover for that 660 :D :batman:
Actually that's for nosebleed seats in the far corners, decent seats start at 400 right now plus broker fees/pickup fees/parking/food/gas (it's a 400 mile round trip) ;)

You tell us, you are the alumni. Probably graduated with honors. Vale"dick"torian
Magna cum laude
Me personally, I'm not a big sports fan so it wouldn't be hard for me to pass up. But, if you ARE a sports fan (sounds like it) you may as well pull the trigger, buy the ticket(s), shout yourself hoarse, get the t-shirt and enjoy it! And takes pics so you can post them here. Besides, skipping out early is better than calling in sick.
On the way there, go by a truck stop or convenience store and pick up two 5-hour energy shots. I've never tried one but a lot of guys at work swear by them. When you get home from the game, stick one next to your bed so you can chug it in the morning to get going, then take the other to work. Around lunch time you can chug that one to get you home.
edit: I guess I'm not talking you out of that very well am I?
so are you going or not! ford field is only 30 minutes away from me i might pull the trigger my self if my buddy finds good seats for 200-300.
It all depends on who wins and who loses wether you will feel bad about it. Going on statistics if your a MSU fan i would not waste the money, however if they upset NC you will hate yourself forever for not getting to witness it. I hope MSU wins but its a bit of a stretch to think its even going to be close. At the same time i am a pac-10 guy so i don't really care who wins at this point, but i will be rooting the underdogs on.
or you could look at it this way..
it is a freekin game!!
its not real.. nor is it important!
let the other sheep fight each other to pay the big money for horrible seats to see a FREEKIN game!
save your money.. buy something nice for your quad.. don't encourage this overpriced crap..
it is NOT a once in a lifetime thing.. it is a once a year thing
when life is over.. you are laying on your death bed, do you really think you will be looking back at your "good times"
and think.. man.. remember that game I paid 300 bucks to barely see.. man that was a good game...
doubtful!
(can you guys tell I HATE sports)

I have to agree with you Hefe, I don't think it would be worth it, but I am not big into BASKETBALL!!!
MadDog, just do what you want, if it seems like it might not be worth it, skip it. If you feel like it is well worth it, give it a go. Good luck on your decision!

It's Basketball babe
I had to Google it myself to see what kind of game it was before I wrote my first post.
Not a sports fan myself. Heck, get off of work, go to a sports bar and watch the game there. Whole lot cheaper.

Tell me it's ok....
It's OK MD, come on out of there. The world is better on the outside of the closet. Brian paved the way for you.

Sorry! The tickets you selected are no longer available for purchase.
Please select different tickets.
this has happened to me 3 times now. I just got home from work and best case scenario I'd miss the first 30 mins of the game...I guess I'm going to be watching on tv tonight. Thanks everyone who chimed in, makes me feel better about missing out, win or lose.
It's okay...North Carolina has beat everyone in the tournament by double digits.
They are very fast, and very talented. If Michigan State pulls this off, it will be one of the biggest upsets in NCAA basketball ever.
Good luck to MSU!
~Brian
UNC favored by 7.5 as of last night, for perspective UCONN was favored by 4.5 and we beat them by 9...
MSU played a grizzly regular season and haven't been given any respect in the tourney. In the last week and a half we've beaten Kansas (reigning nat'l champs, big 12 champs), Louisville (overall #1 seed, #1 Midwest seed, Big East Regular and tournament champs) and Uconn (#1 west seed, former regular season #1 seed, have the biggest, best center in the country).
I'm not guaranteeing a win by any means, but I do think we have a legitimate chance tonight. But thanks for trying to make me feel better  ;)
I'll give MSU this: They play as a team.
North Carolina seems to have three or four that stand out, and they seem to be pretty selfish with the ball.
It's hard to believe it's been 8 years since they last won it all. I could have swore it was just three or four years ago. Izzo's record is pretty solid. He's a classy guy. He doesn't get heated on the floor, doesn't loose his cool.
~Brian
just stock up on energy drinks
Update NC is winning at the start of the 2nd. NC 61 - Mich 41.
NC tore them a new booty hole
So what's up? Did you go to the game, sports bar or stay at the house and watch it?
Wow that was a beating....now take the money you saved and buy parts for your rappy.
Too many mistakes made by MSU. Turnovers killed them.
Still, a remarkable season by both teams.
~Brian
o_o
That's the money you could be saving with Geicko
Hey, I saved $280 by switching to the Gecko!
No shit!
