Title: Clutch Lever help
Post by: MrStevie on May 26, 2008, 11:10:01 PM
hey guys, new to this forum ande quads overall, i just bought my first quad, an 08 raptor 700r and am still trying to figure everything out about it. i bought a set of asv levers for my 08 Raptor and took the stock clutch lever off but left the bracket so i could keep the parking brake. my question is is that wire that plugs into the stock bracket that can no longer be used so i unplugged it, now the quad will only start when it's in neutral, is there anyway to fix it so it will start in any gear?

nevermind, i if i leave cable plugged in it starts out of gear, so i just plugged it in and zip tied it underneath

Trust me man, you will. I don't care if someone has owned a raptor since they first came out. They still need help, and ANYONE can help them. Welcome to the site. Let's see some pictures of that badass.  :nana:

also i have a question about kill switches, do most people get them? is it just a tether that kills the bike if i fall off and pull off the tether?

Actualy oops forgot I let a friend borrow my camera to take to the dunes. But I have a picture on my computer now, look on the left of my handlebars you can see the tether hanging down and the bracket where it goes to. Mounted it on the left side.

looks good, i'll probably go pick one up tomorrow, is that the parking brake you have mounted on the right side? i like the look of that alot, where did you find thebracket and that lever? here's how i have mine mounted and i think it looks way too cramped, and it would free up somespace since i don't have too much room on the clutch side and no room on the brake side.

No I took the parking brake off the 3rd day I had my quad lol. The thing on the right is a Dr. D reverse lever.. I got the reverse and relocated my key to get rid of the stupid key holder. Those levers look bad ass. My only thing on getting them is.. my reverse lever I don't know if it will work with it or not.  ::)

Oh.. and the kill switch comes with the bracket and everything. The reverse lever does to, it comes with the back bracket and goes onto the brake lever itself.

that's pretty cool, and looks alot easier to put it into reverse, looks like i'll have to add another mod onto my list

Silverwood is a good time, can get tight in the corners when there is a lot of people out.  I hate the high desert....too rocky.  But I would say to just head to ocotillo wells, great riding out there.  And there is always the dunes.
