Title: pics of +2 or +4 swingarms
Post by: Warren on May 25, 2008, 07:32:37 PM
if you have a +2 or +4 swing arm i'd like to see pics, and your likes and dislikes.

i mostly trail ride and i'm wondering if a +2 or +4 would hinder me any on the trails?

and also i love to ride wheelies. i know making the wheel base longer will limit my wheelie ability but by how much?

How much do aftermarket swingers of that caliber go for? (+2 or +4)

And would a ladder swinger be strong enough for an mx type racing? (jumps) Or is it pretty much only for dunes and drags?

This one is from SLC Quad Customs and runs about $400 bare.

I can't remember the exact amount but Lance took their ladder swingarm, on two stands and used a jack and tried to crush it.  He said it flexed 1/4 of an inch and the jack gave out before it did anything to the swingarm.

So to answer your question:  Yes I think it would hold up to MX.  ;)  They are strong, yet light.  Weighs 13 lbs.  You should get the heavy duty ladder though, its thicker wall tubing.

Yeah thats why I got it too :)  But mainly for strength and launching.  Have you seen their arched ladder swingarms  :jaw:  They are SEXY but a pain to fab up.

With your mods IMO a +2 would be perfect.
