Title: Rear Brakes
Post by: casanova_9_2 on February 20, 2009, 09:00:52 AM
My rear brakes seem to have air in the line somewehere. Ive tried opeinging up the niple and getting it out but still i have to press it a few times when im riding to actually stop. I am thinking it could be the master cylinder, but im not the best mechaninc so i thought i would as the pros?

If you have to pump it up to get it to hold. Sounds more like air vs. a master cylinder. Have you tried re-bleeding the brakeline?

Doubt it is the master cyl.  Go get some brake fluid and bleed the heck out of the line.

First thing I'd do is have the dealer perform the recall on the rear brake if you haven't already.  You should be able to find the info on the recall with a google search.

Then I'd bleed the line or use it as an excuse to buy a new stainless one.
