Title: Houser Setup
Post by: Yamahauler on May 23, 2008, 01:24:39 PM
Getting a Houser A-Arm setup soon. Confused on some things. Is a +2 regular travel kit going to work with my stock SE shocks? I think I have it right. Regular travel the shock mount position stays the same no matter the +? And the long travel the mount position is extended however many inches?

You are correct. Your SE shocks will mount right in and you won't have any issues! ;)

Is it worth it getting the extra 2 inches on a regular travel setup? Just until I get the moola for a long travel kit?

I went +2 only with my iShock kit, you will notice it FOR SURE.. It's so much more stable in the corners. I was finding myself having to use a LOT of body english coming in through some of the flat turns and burms. After I put the iShock kit on. It was NIGHT and DAY..  Seriously :grin_nod:

IMO, I would say to wait till you can afford a LT set up that way you wont be buying a-arms twice.  You should talk to steve from tqs about getting a price on a LT houser set up with motowoz shocks.  I think this would be you best bet.  Just save the cash and save your self the money from having to buy the a-arms twice....the LT set up is well worth the wait.

PROVE IT...

I can honestly say I have no intention what-so-ever of upgrading to LT 8)

ya thats a crazy good deal. but the cheapest i could find a lt 5500 ishock as like 1300. and the motowoz are only like 1700. to me they are well worth 400 bucks.

I will probably just keep my SE shocks and get +2 regular travel shocks. These shocks are decent enough for me.

the se shocks are alot better than the 06 pogo sticks. and if you want to make them better you can just send them to tcs and get a sport series convert

When they say Houser +2 Regular Travel, is that +2 inches on each side or just all together?

On each side, but it doesn't look too wide.  Here are the pics of mine with the long travel and motowoz shocks.

Yeah, it looks great. But I just can't see myself spending all that money on suspension and all. If anything get my shocks a TCS conversion for a lot less money and get the +2 Houser setup.

Well not what I've had a good ride on mine I can say it was way more then worth the money.
