10-4!
Guys,
I have been playing around with this thing for a couple months now and it is by far the best helmet cam for the price! Please check it out here http://www.tqsatv.com/products.php?cat=76 for some more detailed pictures and descriptions. Also you can see that we have the whole line of extra mounts and accessories that can be purchased seperately on top of the group buy price. I recommend picking up some replacement mount adhesive at the very least. The handlebar mount is also pretty cool although from my testing it is a little shakier on the video.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
  And i just bought a cam. I wish i would have waited for this one.

Questions
1) There's no mention of a charger. Other sites list it as a "USB Charging Cable", is that what the USB Cable above is suppose to be?
2) Any opportunity to offer this great pricing on a larger package that includes an extra battery, universal usb charger (for home or car) and some of the extra mount adhesives.
Thanx again.
price plz!

Questions
1) There's no mention of a charger. Other sites list it as a "USB Charging Cable", is that what the USB Cable above is suppose to be?
The camera is charged via usb cable. Simply plug it into your PC and it starts charging. Takes about 4 hours to fully charge. I bought an ipod setup so that I can plug the usb into the wall or my car. Was $10 bucks.
This price is a steal.
Whats the price? ???
It says $279 on site, I got a PM of a differnet price So I have no idea.
I've sent you both the RaptorSource group buy price which is not to be posted in the open forum.

Your right, the GB price is an excellent super deal. I've been watching your vids in the optional HD mode and am impressed. Is the HD versions what you get when you watch on the computer or tv? I've put off buying a helmet cam due to their grainy, pixelated vids. That and I didn't want to spend huge to get quality but this set-up looks to fill the bill. I'm in.
Any word on shipping?

Yes, the quality in a small all-in-one package sold it for me. Then add all of the extra stuff that Steve is putting in that we would normally have to be AND its at a GREAT PRICE!!! Oh and just got off the phone with Steve and shipping should be no more than 10 extra duckets. I will add you to the list.
And remember to tell all your friends! 8)
When is delivery planning on or when are they gonna be paid and shipped, once we get a certain amount? If so I will have Steve ship it with my order I already have with him.

Yes you need a PC and software to view your video. The VholdR records in raw data. The software that is provided with it will convert your raw data into AVI (viewable video). The software is a simple couple of clicks to install.
If you have any more questions please ask, I can answer all of them.

The VholdR records in AVI not HD, but it is simple to convert it over to any format that you wish including and not limited to HD. There is only one kind of HD so when you watch an HD video, it is the same as if you were on your tv watching an HD channel. If you have anymore questions, I have an answer.

Right on guys! Im impressed with the turn out.
A lot of people have been asking for the price on the accessories so here is a list for you. Like I said before at the very least pick up some extra adhesive for just in case. Another form of charging the unit is also handy. Whether you want to get the car or the wall charger its up to you. The unit only comes with a USB charger and not all of us bring our laptops to the dunes with us for those long trips.
Rechargeable extra battery - $29.95
(http://vholdr.com/sites/all/themes/vholdr/images/shoot/batteries.jpg)
Wall charger - $49.95
(http://vholdr.com/sites/all/themes/vholdr/images/shoot/charger.jpg)
Vented adjustable helmet mount - $19.95
(http://vholdr.com/sites/all/themes/vholdr/images/shoot/mounts/mounts3.jpg)
Goggle mount - $19.95
(http://vholdr.com/sites/all/themes/vholdr/images/shoot/mounts/mounts4.jpg)
Handle bar mount - $19.95
(http://vholdr.com/sites/all/themes/vholdr/images/shoot/mounts/mounts5.jpg)
Extra adhesive - $4.95
(http://vholdr.com/sites/all/themes/vholdr/images/shoot/adhesive.jpg)
Also I have extra 2gb Micro SD Cards for $15.00

Steve, the VholdR camera is kinda sensitive to certain SD cards. I used a PNY and it didn't work, I also used a Kingston and it was choppy and made some gunning noise. Got a SanDisk and problem solved. There's a write up on it at the VholdR forum.
The ones I have are actually Sandisc. HCC.com sells the maxflash with their bundles and I believe they work as well. Thanks for the tip!

So you have to wait until after the trip if you don't have a computer with you to watch the vids?
Talk about a buzzkill. I'd want to plug the cam into the tv in the toyhauler and laugh at my bros during riding trips instead of the following Tuesday at home. Something for me to think about. Thanks for the quick reply.
Yeah, I agree. I was the same way at first. I took my laptop with me the first couple of times, but never watched the video. Everybody always wanted to ride instead of watching the videos, me included.
Another question ... does the vholdr cam have a zoom function?
I've been watching some of the vids on the vholdr site and in several the camera zooms in on what is being filmed. That would be incredibly cool if it did - could also use it to film the boy's school performances, and other non-sports things too.

I don't think that it does... It can be done while editing without much effort.
count me in if i can wait untill next month to pay and ship... funds are a little on the tight side right now... but i really want one.

Thank you Steve, awsome to wrk with as always.

I got mine and it is a chargin'. I can't wait to put it to use.
One question for you guys... On page 22 of the booklet, it talks about covering the mic with tape if the wind noise is excessive, and it references a previous section of the manual. Unless I'm totally blind, I can't find where the manual states were the mic is, and I can't find it on the damn camera.
Okay, I think that I found it. It must be that really small hole on the bottom.
Got mine yesterday haven't had time to play with yet its charging now
if you could, please pm me the price, i was going to buy a refurbed one for 200, but curious to see wha tthe new one will cost!

Thanks for putting together this awesome deal!!

Thanks Steve..
Got it today..
seems to work fine!
Got mine on Wednesday. I will try and mess with it this weekend as I seem to have dodged a big problem. UPS sat it in a snow pile by my step and the box got real wet. Camera seemed dry though so I have just let it sit in the house and warm for a couple days now.
Jay
Let me know if there are any issues.
Sure thing,. Thanks Steve.

Hey, just curious on this, when you say you convert this to HD I think the resolution of this device is 640x480, are you upconverting through software of some sort? I have Vegas Video and i know it lets me import and render with all different file types and resolutions, but just curious which program you use to convert it to the best resolution possible? I'm no expert at the resolutions, hoping you can help!
Thanks,
David

I don't have my vHoldr yet, but you are correct in that the camera only records at 640x480 30fps; which is not HD resolution. Most (if not all) video editing software will allow you to choose what the final output resolution is, so you could chose an HD resolution (1280x720 and up). But the results from a 640x480 source may have a lot of pixelation and not ideal. If your plan is to just upload videos to YouTube sticking with the native resolution would be just fine. If, however, you're planning on putting the videos on DVD and watching them on a HDTV I'd still recommend encoding at 640x480 and allow the built-in scaler on the HDTV handle the upconversion.
Personally I use Windows Movie Maker (since it's free :) ) and have had good results. Hope this helps.

All cameras have shipped. Lets see some videos!
I strapped it to my BMX bike, and ripped off some manuals. I'm a little out of practice, so my manuals were pretty weak and I nearly caught a bike's view of a wipeout!
