Ok, I took the rappy for its first REAL couple hour ride today! I have to say the add ons in my sig were a MAJOR improvement. IT is amazing. The only thing I really question is it seems to have a high idle problem. When I first fire it up to warm it up it idles way high im guessing probably around 3000 rpm. It does go down, but every time I fire it up after sitting for even 30 seconds the idle is way high. It even seems like the idle is high when off throttle sometimes when no gas is given and cruising in gear! Any help????
Well there is an idle screw, try playing with that.
Other thought is maybe something is up with the automatic choke since the rebuild ???
Would a bad map have anything to do with this? ???
Plug your computer up to the PCIII and find out for sure what it is idling at. When I first did my big 3, I thought I was idling way to high too. Come to find out I was at around 1600-1800 and that is normal. Every now and then I still think I'm idling high, but if I slap the laptop on the PCIII, it proves me wrong.
I will try it out! I have messed with the idle screw and get it where I want after sitting for a bit. It revs quite high. But I may be freaking out. Someone else mentioned a vacuum line???
mine does the samething. except my idle screw makes no differance when i turn it either way. once it warms up it idles a bit lower.

It was about -5 out yesterday when my bro and I went riding, I know the rappy idled high for about 5 mins during warm up and it lowered itself right down.
the idle screw is an air bleed and does not actually adjust the throttle opening.... this does not afect the idle speed when the engine is cold,,,,
if u have a modified/bored throttle body then u may need to adjust the throttle plate stop (10mm & flathead)
Try this and see if it helps once you are sure there are no vacuum leaks:
Take a multi meter and verify the TPS is set in spec as outlined in EFI trouble shooting section of the service manual. If you don't have one it's down loadable online.
Once the bike is fully warmed up and the thermostat is open:
1. Back the thumb idle screw all the way off
2. Loosen the jamb nut on the butterfly flat head set screw on the left side of the TB in the fwd lower portion of the throttle cable cover.
3. Back that screw off until your idle comes down to what you would consider to low.
tighten jambnut up.
4. Adjust idle thumb screw to desired idle.
5. Check and if needed Reset the TP in the PCIII software.
This has worked like a charm for me on bikes I have dialed in for myself and others with bored TB's.

Thanks RaptorRandy for all your help. I think that may have been the culperate. I checked the TPS and everything checked out OK.
Maximum Throttle Position Sensor Resistance: 4.769
Throttle Position Sensor Resistance: .686 THROUGH 3.890
Throttle Position Sensor Voltage: .626
I backed the jam nut off the butterfly stop and had to back it out quite a bit to get her to idle down. After I got here tightened I did final adjustments with the idle adjust screw! Its too late to ride here tonight, I dont want to piss the neighbors off! But I will take her for a test run tomorrow and see if it worked! Thanks again!
