im undecided about what i should go with for suspension. i can get i-shock f8s with +2 a-arms, or i can go with elka's all the way arround. is it really worth the +2 when trail riding? cuz if i widen the front i might as well widen the rear as well. either way a decent shock setup costs a mean buffalo nickel :(. any insight would be appreciated.
you can just buy shocks for the stock a-arms, it will handle alot better but will still be tippy since the width wouldnt change
I know there are varied opinions on wheel spacers but we have found them to work for what we do. We used 1" on the front for a total of 2" wider and 2" on the rear for a total of 4" wider. Solid aluminum billit from Magic Racing 160$ for the set of four. We are using stock travel Elkas on the front. It works for us in Baja.
I like my stock a-arms and good shocks for running trails.
I have the i5500 kit +2 on mine. Seriously it was a night and day difference. Cornering I don't get the tipsy feeling. Over bumps/jumps/and whoops I could feel them doing their job. I don't think you could go wrong w/ either kit.
thanks guys, i appreciate the feedback, i want to buil my own track nextyear, and i want to be able to do jumps, but i didnt feel my pogo suspension was up to the task, i appreciate all of the input.
In the next couple months I plan on getting the max clearance +2.25 a arms from TQS. I have a hard time spending 1600+ dollars for shocks. Any other options. I have the 08 SE adjustable shocks will these suit my needs?
You could always have them re-valved/re-sprung to suit your needs. they will be as good as any of the other big names
I had the pogo suspension... I bough some used YFZ front shock... they make a night and day difference. Anyway, if you don't like them, you can always sell them later. :) They go for around 200-300, less if you're patient :)
