Title: DRD Reverse lever cable length?
Post by: MrStevie on November 29, 2008, 09:41:13 PM
i was curious if anyone knows the length of the cable that comes with the drd reverse lever kit. i'm wanting to put together a reverse lever kit with this as the actual lever. i'm planning on using a hot start cable as the actual cable, i just need to know what the length is on the drd kit so i can get one long enough to fit on the handlebars. any opinions or advice on if this would actually work? thanks

Whats that part #?
Do you have ASV levers now?

I was told this part # isn't listed on ASV's site.
Part # HSL-Pro
It has the hot start lever on the bottom vs the top

the part # is RCH05, here's the site http://asvinventions.com/RotatorClamp/RCU05.php (http://asvinventions.com/RotatorClamp/RCU05.php), but i guess that's not the one we need. so part # HSL-Pro is the one with the lever on the bottom? and yes i do already have asv levers.

Yes as I understand it part # HSL-Pro has the lever on the bottom & I had asked about it since I have ASV levers, not sure about fitment on stock perches  ??? I never looked.
I was told a dealer would have these & if not they would get one out in the mail.  I have a Dr D lever now but like the ASV's price.

My drd was a tad short so I routed the cable a little better and it is fine but a little more lenght would not hurt  :'(

i \just ended up getting the drd reverse lever, i'm thinking about getting the asv hot start to see if it will fir, but then the total cost of moving the reverse lever would be $125, i was a little hesitant about getting the drd because of the price, lol i don't know if i'm willing to spend another 50.

If you are going to get a cable made I would suggest you make it a little longer. I had to get a longer one and it made installation a lot easier.

I agree!  I have had many complaints about how the drd cable is too short.

When I installed my DRD lever, there was barely enough cable so you have to route it carefully.
It could definitely use another inch or two!

The cable should be how much longer than a Dr. D if a cable is being made?

It's not hard at all to install and it is well worth it!!!
It's much quicker and easier to shift into reverse without having to take your hand off the bars.
