heres a few pics of my new lengthened grab bar. when i first made it. it was way to short. it might be to long now but it doesn't look to bad i don't think. and the reasons i lengthened it are: my exhaust tips where only about 1" off the ground when the raptor was at 12 o'clock. and when i put my foot back there to ride wheelies i couldn't get my boot to stay on it good enough.
first off what i did to lengthen it. i cut the mounting brackets back about 2.5" then i welded on a piece that was 4.5" long. i did this because if i just added on to what i had there it would interfer with the mounting holes. so i beveled everything down and made full penetration welds on it. the overall length is now about 13 inches from front to back. so here is that....
the big gob of crap next to the weld is where i plugged one of the old holes. i didn't really care to clean it up much more because it's on the inside of the bar and out of sight.

and here is a shot of the strap i welded on the outside for alittle more support.

and just for reference i took this pic. i was wondering if it is close to the length of a PRM bar.
