Title: 660 wiring/starting problem???
Post by: lmack on November 19, 2008, 04:41:33 PM
I have an 02 raptor 660. I recently completed a rebuild on this quad, I am running 11:1 compression which i know makes it harder to start but before the rebuild everything worked fine. When i try to start the quad it makes a clicking/ buzzing type noise from the starter relay. The quad will run when i pull start it. I feel like it might be a bad connection or something with the wiring that connects into the relay but im not sure how to go about fixing that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I ran into the SAME exact problem after I did my full tear down on my 700 last winter. Have you tried jump starting it? I ended up finding out the battery was dead. the clicking noise I was hearing was the fact that there wasn't enough juice to engage the starter.

It could be causing the starter to drag.

Make sure the battery is fully charged.
