We had three Blackhawks pay us a visit due to one of the three helos ingesting a buzzard at 1200 feet AGL. The three Blackhawks landed, and moved a few troops around and headed out in two, and left the Blackhawk that had the issue with the bird strike here fore review.
24 hours later, the buzzard in question was removed from the port side engine, and the turbo fans were inspected and the all clear was given to proceed to Tulsa.
Here's a few pics and videos. Sorry for the quality, they are camera phone clips, and it was overcast outside.

That's freaking wild. You're lucky man. I would love to stand that close to a blackhawk taking off. How was the wind? :grin_nod:
id probably fall over backwards from that thing
It wasn't too bad until the adjusted the pitch on the prop and pulled back on the collective. Grass was flying around everywhere. It was like standing in a 35-40 mph wind, and I was 20 yards away.

At the airport near my house, I see UH-60's, and Chinooks all the time. We see Apaches when they come in for training ops at Fort Chaffee.
The videos above where taken at the airport at Sallisaw, OK right across the street from where I work. This Blackhawk was behind the hangars, about 100 yards off the tarmac and 20 yards off the taxiway.

nice pictures and videos Brian
Thanks Scott!
I live about a mile from an Air NAtional Guard base, so I get to see all types of aircraft. The big Chinooks are pretty cool to see. The RAF by far has the best Chinook display EVER!
Nuts!!!!

thats sweet, i would love to see that in person
We were twenty yards from the Blackhawk when it was doing the engine run ups and lifting off. The helicopter was sitting behind some hangars at the airport across the street from where I work. When they helicopters arrived and departed, they covered the cars on the lot with dead grass. It's amazing how much downforce those rotors produce.

thats badass. i would love to see some of them up close
1st pic was taken 02 Nov 08 a few hours before the Titans vs. Green Bay game. From a CH-47 on its way back to Ft. Campbell.
The 2nd on is our 100th completed Apache. In the pic is an Alpha Model but we also do the newer Delta Model Longbows (very badass).
Great pictures!
