Title: My Raptor 09
Post by: PROXT on October 29, 2008, 11:58:09 PM
Well i finally brought a brand new raptor 700 op model. After having a brand new 08 banshee. Now i want to get rid of the raptor and go back to a banshee. I miss the power so much. Just love that strong power when it comes on. The raptor does nothing for me. I must admit it does climb hills better than the banshee. But i like that low and speedway sliding of the banshee. And i hate the noise of the raptor. How much would i get for the raptor. Its only done 2 hours work. It has GTYR skid plate and nerf bars on it.

Lower it & add power mods  ???
Depreciation hit when the Rappy goes bye bye.  :thud:
The Raptor is a great drifting machine with the right set up
Only 2 hours on it,   You just need more seat time & more power IMHO

The raptor comes corked up from the factory.  Just by putting on an intake, fuel controller, and exhaust you will notice a HUGE difference.  Let that raptor breathe and you'll love it.  You can't compare them from the factory.  Plus it would be a huge money loss if you were to sell it, once you take it home the price crashes.

Start by uncorking that thing to give you the power you want.  Then look at a lowering kit and a rpm dominator 2 axle, this is a great adjustable axle that will give you the width you want, or you can switch back to stock width.

I always thought the Banshee did the best on steep hill climbs , but to each his own I suppose. If you decide to keep the Raptor before taking a huge loss buy a set of aftermarket shocks. This will lower the bike if you get zero pre load. You could also  get a-arms/shocks now days for 1200.00 that will cure the tipping feeling that your experiencing from your Raptor. Then purchase a decent exhaust (LRD,HMF,Barker,LTE,ETC..) tune it & hold on. If your still looking for more power throw in a stage II, 12:1 piston & call it a day. If you want the best  engine combination $$ contact KDS he'll hook you up and treat you better than just about anyone who does R&D reseach on Raptors.

TO answer your original Question an 09 with low hours should fetch between ~5900-6600 American here (I'm guessing your an Aussie? )  I'm betting you paid allot more over there  :(
