Title: vehicle techies
Post by: Kamakazi on September 17, 2008, 09:50:14 PM
alright, now where to begin.  i have a 1989 chev shortbox 4x4.  i have cooked the current 305tbi in it.  i have purchased a 1991 350tbi.  i have the necessary ecu for the 350 from another one of my vehicles.  but my question is:  is there really a difference between the 305 ecu and 350 ecu?  are they the same?  i have this feeling that only the tb is different to increase the amt of fuel to prevent leaning.   by looking at the system, i have the feeling the ecu just uses the 02 sensor to monitor the fuel rate.  heck i dont even think the engine monitors how much air the engine gets.  am i wrong with my assumptions?  if anyone can shed a light on my situation, i am all ears. :grin_nod:

im correct about the ecu .  apparently there are a handful of sensors that are cubic inch dependant but other than that its a straight bolt in.  im doing a rv cam, springs(retainers and locks of course), roller rockers, pushrods, lifters, timing gears, all new gaskets and head bolts.  as well as ceramic headers and  ??? hopefully side pipes.  im looking for interior pieces though :grin_nod:
