Post by: socalrappy700 on September 05, 2008, 08:58:44 AM
As the title says my white plastic is looking a bit dull.  Any tricks to bring the shine back?

White wall tire cleaner. Can be found at wally world in a white bottle. Really makes the white plastic "pop" then after that put on some tire shine.

If you have stain, then use comet and scotch bright.

I was really anal about my predator, but on this bike I could not really care what it looks like.

It may look like shit, but it rides like a caddy, and runs like a raped ape.

Tire shine is about the only thing that works on black. Other than sanding and buffing.

My bike is blue, and Pledge makes it sparkle. It won't help with deep scratches, or pits, but it does put a little shine on the fenders.

one thing... I'd be VEEEEERRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY Careful using a scotchbrite/brillow pads, they are VERY abrasive. that will take the stock gloss/shine right off your plastics.

Yup!

Even that fender restore stuff is a mild abrasive.

mothers power ball and mothers plastic polish is ok. I guess if I spent more than 1 hour on it it would work better. the alluminum polish works killer on the sand blasted wheels.

lol, that's an old boot polishing trick too.  Some guys used to use pledge to make their boots pop for an inspection.

Anyone have experience with Hondabrite?

I've cleaned my white plastics with a Mr Clean Magic Eraser twice.  I think it works great.  Initially I thought it dulled the sheen of the plastics but there white again so I don't care.  They bead water so its all good
