Title: Cam Testing on a 771 (HC3, X2 and X4)
Post by: KBR on August 18, 2008, 04:23:01 PM
OK now we did a big ol cam test.
The bike had a X2, we swapped it for a X4, and then the Hot Cam Stage 3.
The numbers with each cam (peak) are as follows:
X2 68.60 and 58.83
X4 68.56 and 58.23
HC3 67.65 and 57.52
So less than 1 hp difference in HP and barely 1.5 more ft/lbs difference.
NOW, these results cannot be expected on all builds, I suspect this head is not up to par, and a better head will probably exploit cams differently.
We will do some testing with a different engine here soon and see how it repeats with one of our heads.

Nice info guys. I need to bring my bike down and see you before Labor day. I think that I am going to swap my cam out also. Maybe I will get the new cam and bring it by so that you can put it in and then dyno it for me.

Kam, a few questions Sir.

What was the compression ratio for the 771?? Was an ignition box used (Dynatek), or is this all stock ignition? and were aftermarket valve springs used on all three set-ups?

Thanks,

Aaron

Kam,

Is the x-4 that you have there for sale??? I might be interested in taking it off your hands if it is.
