Title: a noise i have
Post by: corsasri on July 31, 2008, 09:44:45 AM
i have a bit of a noise its eather a engine noise or a chain noise. the noise is present only when i apply the front brake. it sounds strange a bit like when you push your quad and you get a noise as the chaine moves over a bush. its defanatly not the brakes making the noise.
any ideas or is this a standard noise.

hmmmmmmmmmmm

Only happens when you apply the front brake?
Are you sure it's not the pads up front needing to be replaced?

no its as if something is spining up inside the gear box. maybe its something to do with wait distrubution ? as is allso makes the noise when turning hard on a right turn going slow.

Check your chain tension, when the rear shock is unloaded from applying front brake you might have to much slack in the chain and it's rubbing the guide.

I would ride it, do whatever it takes to really listen to see where its coming from. if it sounds like what it does when you push the quad unstarted. It has to be the chain. Another thing you could check is pull the chain roller off the left side behind the lower left had part of the frame, and throw some grease in it to see if that quiets it down.

To me doens't sound thus far like an internal problem.

A-arms have been greased recently?
Double check all parts are firmly mounted  ???
