Title: Difference Between Regular and Radials
Post by: darkside94 on July 27, 2008, 08:32:29 PM
Hey i was still looking at tires and decided to take a look at their website. They have a lot more there than they do at rockymountainatv. I like the Knarly XC rears but there are two. Does anybody know the difference between knarly xc and knarly xc radials. Thanks alot

radials will be stronger, and hold their shape at high speed, but...they do weigh a bit more.

I have to disagree with peels on the stronger part, at least as far as punctures go.  Bias ply tires are much more puncture and pinch resistant.  Plus radials usually cost more.  However the radials will ride nicer because the conform to the terrain better.

I meant stronger, as in wear.   +1 on costing more. If you are street riding, Is it better for radials or not?
Maybe I have it backwards?

It's hard to compare them because most OEM radial tires are 2 ply, while most bias ply tires are 4 and many are 6 ply.  I'm not sure how many plys the aftermarket radials have though.
