Title: Damged hiper wheel
Post by: shrimpy21 on July 17, 2008, 07:02:57 AM
Like the title says,i over tightened one bolt which holds the beadlocks on  .Its on the Tech3 wheels on the rear wheel, see pictures. My question is do you think its safe to ride like it??Ive banged the nut back down and filed the top off smoth again as it started to come out.It has a very slight split on the inside.
Any ideas what i could do with it?Ive thought about heating the nut up with a solidering iron or somethink and pulling it out and then repostioning it with strong resin glue like araldite,or should i just leave it.

Dont want to buy a new half of a rim if i can help it,as they are only 8 months old  :(

Sorry about picture quality its my moblie phone camera

They should warrenty it for you. They are usually pretty good about that stuff. But if worse tcame to worse I would do what you suggested and pull it out and put some JB weld in there and re-seat the nut.

Update on the rim,ive nocked the thread back in and heated it up and let it cool.Put the tire on and torqued the bolts up and everythink looks good at the moment.Just have to wait and see and keep my fingers crossed  ;)
Couldnt exctrat the nut and glue with resin, like i wanted to do,as the nut has a square nut or somthink on it to stop it coming right out and would of really messed the rim up if i pulled it right out.
