Title: Just Beat My EX YFZ!!
Post by: Juggernaut_7 on July 16, 2008, 08:15:34 PM
hey all i dont know if you have read any of my posts but i bought a new quad since my post about getting beat by my old 450 on my 06 raptor well i sold it and bought a 08 se and added 20-11-10 xcrs with the big three monsters- fuel atv-pc3 and i finnally raced him again and i took him everytime we raced about 8 different times some worse than others but for the most part i won by about 2-3 bikes everytime and this is running in dirt about 600 foot or better... that 450 is no slouch but i built it, it has hmf full pipe, ron woods race intake, 15 t, cam mod done to it with stock tires and rims. i also have the 15 t btw and on top end like for a real long distance he starts gaining on me slowly but surely you think this is just do to the xcrs being low profile? or on 10s instead of 9s? or does the 450 just have more top end period..

PS my old post is on raptor forums. anyways i like this site better keep it up

i think him gaining on you at top speed is because your smaller tires.

but anyway congrats on the win.

tally 1 up for the rappy.

Sounds like your speed sensor in 5th is the culprit

i do have the speed sensor unplugged im just tryin to figure out why my old 450 is faster on top end when i read all about the raptor being fas on top??? does rim size make a difference or the lower profile xcrs??? some thing is up because we have the same gearing both with 15 tooth in front

lots of things to consider..

Going lower profile tires will hurt your top end.

both being 15t up front, but gear ratio's could be different inside the tranny. How about the rear sprocket size?
