Just FYI for you guys who ride higher altitudes
« on: June 30, 2008, 08:10:10 PM »
I am in NO way talking trash or down talking here......

I have found out that Kenz porting is not a good thing for us guys who ride higher altitudes.  I have actually lost hp and tq after replacing my stock head with Web III to a Kenz port and polished head with Megacycle X2.

I think Kenz does a great job on their stuff and it could be the cam that is the problem too but I don't think its good for higher altitudes due to less air pressure.  Up here we need more velocity, not flow.

Is there dyno sheets?? And I dont see how the high altitude has anything to do with it?

It's probably not the altitude :( You probably lost at the peak, but gained 4-6hp in the higher ranges(above peak?) Let me stew on this for a bit, and we'll try to get it fixed ???

Heres previous build (Red) Vs. last year's build (Blue)

OLD mods

11:1
Web III
Pro Design K&N
Barkers

NEW build

11:1
Kenz P&P
Megacycle X2
KDS +2 TB
Fuel ATV Intake
Barkers

There was a 20 degree air temp difference between the dyno days.  Last year it was in October and was 76 degrees....this year it was in June and 96 degrees

Could it just be the cam?

??? I wonder if something has been done to the dyno. I have NEVER seen a Raptor lose torque like that, even with the X-4 vs stock. Pull the cover and double check the cam gear alignment....It looks a little like the cam may be 1 tooth stupid. When Troy tests his, that may say something about the dyno. We'll figure this out.  ???

Man I dont know what to say other than maybe the cam timing if off, or the TB is the sitting in the intake tube stright.

But even so you should at least match what you did before.

You should really be running more compression to take full advantage of that cam, but still it should not make that much of a difference.

Maybe its the new fuel atv intake. You are one of the first to use it................?????
