San gabriel vally and OC would be well in the upper six figures for a half acre.  You can get something that size out in riverside or San bernardino for under 500k.

Our yard is several acres, the rest the cows get to eat. But we have not had much yard work this year because of the drought. We are on track to be the driest year ever.  :(

I had a guy call me a couple of months ago about buying my 3.5 acres. Property here when compared to elsewhere in the country is pretty cheap.

It's finally starting to come back down here. It was fetching about $10,000 per acre

Did he low ball you?

I hope you can build out there someday.  Building costs should be down next year.

damn, that's stupid rediculous... It's like California and I'm sure other places in the US.. But they are totally on their own... a computer guy makes like... 150k+.. But they only make that much because everything else is stupid expensive.

No, he didn't make an offer, he asked if I was interested in selling it. He owns the house just to the north of my property. I need to have a survey done. The person I bought the property from told me he thought that the guy's driveway was too close to my property line or on my property line. I would like to know, especially before he paves it.

I gave $24500 for the 3.5 acres. It is in an area with covenants, so I don't have to worry about some douche throwing a mobile home next to me, etc.. The road in and out is maintained by the county now, and is paved. The only negative I have is I'm afraid of not having adequate police patrols there. County police are responsible for that area, and I've never seen a county sheriff out there.

It is slightly rual, but it is Sequoyah County, Oklahoma. There are some very nice homes there, and I have heard of some break ins there. I have a secuirty system on my home now, and would do the same with the new home, but people can get in and out well before police ever arrive.

My aunt and uncle have German Shepherds and they love them.  Great with the kids but they can take care of business.
