Well for one it takes out a lot of the stress on all your tie rods, tie rod ends, spindles, lugs, and steering knuckles by reducing the amount of leverage on all these components. Just imagine the rim being 8" deep as opposed to 1"; its just like when you stick a pipe over a wrench to get more leverage on it, same applies here.
Also, your quad will handle much better because with a shallow offset, rocks and branches and anything that catches the outside of the wheel doesnt have as much force in twisting the bars out of your hands because of the reduced leverage. Not only that, but your brake calipers are much more protected inside the wheel than hanging out, ala a 3+2 wheel, or more extremely, a 2+3 wheel.
And yes, all wheel manufactures sell wheels in the 4+1.
Krandall, if you have a +2 a aarm setup and go to a 4+1 wheel, it will effectively make your bike +1 overall, as raptors came with 3+2 wheels. This means a front track of 48... what ur looking for. As for the back, if its an adjustable axle then I just answered my own question, if not you may turn the rear wheels around so that the air valve is inside, that will lose you some width. It will also be easir on your rear wheel hubs.
