HMF packing
« on: June 30, 2008, 11:06:18 AM »
How often to replace packing on aftermarket HMF pipe? Best place to find packing? Is it special fit stuff, or can I just go to auto parts store and and buy universal and cut it? totally unsure?  Doesn't look hard to do.
Thanks.

I've owned my Yoshimura since 2004 and I have not replaced the packing. I don't ride much, but it is recommended like JHilt said every 30-40 hours of ride time. Usually you'll notice your exhaust producing a little more smoke. The packing tends to get saturated with deposits and tend to smoke a little when it's time to change them.
