Title: Oil type for Raptor 50
Post by: kawadank on May 17, 2010, 04:41:24 PM
What kind of oil are you using in your Raptor 50?  The service manual says YAMALUBE 4 (20W40) for my temperature.  Any other suggestions?

I would just go with 10w30

20-40 seems on the heavy side. But, it's nice to run thicker oil in the summer anywho :)

I've noticed that alot of people run Rotella T or Rotella T Synthetic in their quads.  Any issues running this in my Raptor 50?

None at all. There is an oil test that was posted in the 700 section (I think under maintenance). Yamalube was towards the bottom of the list. :)
