http://www.vholdr.com/support/overviewI recently acquired a VholdR video camera via Christmas. This camera rocks.
Here are some of my videos. Youtube sucks, but if you have the patience watch them in HD. The option is just below the volume icon to switch to HD or high quality.
http://www.youtube.com/user/4gunz4x4zThe VholdR can only record up to 2 hours of video. They are in the works on a firmware that will let it record up to 4 hours, but that is down the road. The battery life is 2 hours. I have run out of video time before I have run out of battery life so far. The video is stored in a miniSD card. You can use up to 2 gig card (I recommend a 2gig). It is light weight and very easy to forget you are wearing it on your helmet. The VholdR came with a helmet mount, usb cable, software, and a battery. The helmet mount is very easy to install. The adhesive on the mount is very similar, if not the same, as a quick release goggle strap. I took a small tree branch to it in 3rd gear and it stayed on, surprisingly.
Its function is very simple. Push button operation for on/off/laser site. It has a slid on top to activate record and a beep to verify the record on/off. Before hand I was worried I wouldn't be able to hear the "beeps" while riding. This ended up not be an issue. I could hear the "beeps" of the record on/off slide with ease, even while riding.
It has a laser pointer on it to adjust the horizontal view. The eye of the camera is 192* adjustable, so no matter how you mount it the VholdR will record at a horizontal view. Here are a few pics of it.
Between a 1-10 (1=horrible, 10=excellent)
I give it a 10 for function. It is way easy to operate.
I give it a 5 for video time. I would love to be able to record for more then 2 hours.
I give the battery life an 9. Seems about the norm for any electronics these days and I never ran out of battery before video.
I give the appearance and size a 10. Compared to a "Hero" this thing kicks its a$$ in a Kung-Fu fight.
I give the sound quality a 6.5. It has some wind issues, but thats mainly due to haul'n a$$, but they could look into it a little.
Overall I give this video camera a 8.75.
This is a "D" battery.
